A lot has happened in Olivia Flowers’ life in the time she’s been on Southern Charm. It was only two seasons, but they sure packed a punch. First, she had a relationship with Austen Kroll. So far, normal. Relationships are the bread and butter of reality TV. The two later broke up, which is still more or less normal. People break up. But then came the big shock, with Kroll confessing he’d kissed Taylor Ann Green, Flowers’ friend and confidante.
That brought on the drama to the Bravo reality show and with good reason. Flowers didn’t want to be friends with Green after that, and she also didn’t seem to want a relationship with Kroll either.

“A lot of different things happened that shifted the dynamic of the group and changed a lot of friendships,” Flowers told PEOPLE of the drama. “We both just kind of went our separate ways,” she confirmed. “As small as Charleston is, we haven’t run into each other at all yet. We just went to one dinner the other night and kind of bumped in, but I think moved on.”
Outside of the show, there was more going on for Flowers during Season 9—like the death of her brother Conner, who passed away due to a fentanyl overdose in February 2023, as cameras were rolling.
“It certainly made it just that much more challenging to finish it out,” Flowers also told PEOPLE in October. “But my castmates were all really supportive in their own individual ways and a lot of people stepped up to help me and my family and be there for us.”
Despite those great relationships and the fact that Flowers managed to get through the season of Southern Charm, she won’t be returning for Season 10. But what happened to Olivia Flowers on Southern Charm? Why did she leave?

Olivia Flowers is leaving Southern Charm, and it wasn’t her decision. Flowers confirmed her exit from the Bravo show during an episode of Scheananigans with Scheana Shay in July. “I’m not on this new season,” she told the Vanderpump Rules star, adding it “wasn’t my choice.” Flowers also confirmed that her relationship with her boyfriend Alex Williams was one of the reasons she was fired, as he lives in Dallas.
“I was super bummed,” Flowers said and made it clear that she disagreed with the decision. “I got the call like, a few weeks before filming. The production company was just like, ‘You don’t really seem to be in Charleston that much. We’re noticing on your Instagram you’re in Texas, you’ve got this new boyfriend, and it just seems like you’re choosing a different path.”
The reality TV star explained that, for her, “I don’t think it’s choosing a different path. I’m just kinda living my life. My parents had just moved to Texas, and the boyfriend thing just happened very randomly. I’m really glad… like, he was the best part that came out of that year. But had I known it was working against me or making people think I was choosing a different path? I wish there had been more communication there.”
So, there it is. If it were up to Olivia Flowers, we’d see her in the next season of Southern Charm. But it clearly isn’t up to her, and so Season 10 of the show is set to look different when it finally returns. But, considering she didn’t leave in bad terms, we might still see her again one day. Never say never.
