Most people who click on Netflix’s new documentary, titled Avicii – I’m Tim, which follows the life and legacy of Avicci, real name Tim Bergling, will probably already have a good idea of who the late DJ and music producer Avicii was. The documentary, directed by Swedish journalist and director Henrik Burman, does, however, feature never-before-seen footage.

“This is the unlikely story of Tim Bergling, a shy and insecure boy who, without realizing it, suddenly created one of the world’s most loved artists – Avicii,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Through unique home movies and a huge private archive, we get to follow Tim on a winding journey through life – from the very first breath at the maternity ward in Stockholm in 1989 to the tragic end in Oman in 2018.”

Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, died by suicide on April 20, 2018, while on a holiday in Muscat, Oman. He was 28 years old. According to Celebrity Net Worth the Swedish-born DJ and music producer had a net worth of $50 million at the time of his death.

He made most of his money from his music, starting with his breakthrough single “Levels” in 2011. He would then reach next-level fame with hits like “Wake Me Up,” “Hey Brother,” and “Waiting for Love,” tunes that remain staples to this day. But Avicii wasn’t just a DJ, he was a celebrated music producer, who was recognized for his ability to bridge the gap between electronic and mainstream pop music. In fact, he is considered to have influenced the sound of pop as it exists today.

It is estimated that he could command as much as $500,000.00 per appearance and at the top of his career made approximately $20 million per year. Some estimates indicate he made as much as $140 million during his short career. Avicii released only two studio albums, “True” (2013) and “Stories” (2015). He also had a $15.5 million house in the Hollywood Hills, that was sold after his death for $17.5 million.

Avicii had no will at the time of his death, which means the entirety of his state passed to his parents, Anki and Klas Bergling. His assets at that time were approximately 231 million Swedish Krone, or $26 million. But that number only takes into account liquid assets and does not include real estate or other non-liquid assets.
