Chanel and Micah The Ultimatum
Netflix

If there’s something Netflix knows how to do, it’s reality TV dating shows. We only have to look at the success of Love is Blind and Too Hot to Handle to understand why we’re now on the third season of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On—and that’s without counting The Ultimatum: Queer Love—and why Netflix reality TV dating shows continue to dominate on the streamer.

The premise of The Ultimatum is simple. The couples that come on it consist of one partner who is ready to get married and one who isn’t ready for that commitment yet. Once on the show, the couples have to break up and date other people—chosen from the other couples also in the experiment—until they are ultimately matched up for a “trial marriage” for three weeks. After those three weeks, everyone goes back to their original partner for an additional three weeks, so they can compare how things went. After that, it’s decision time. Will the couples get married, break up, or do they want to try dating the person from their “trial marriage”?

Season 3 of the show has proven to be as dramatic as the previous seasons, with the first four episodes released on Netflix giving us two couples who already decided the competition wasn’t for them: Chanel and Micah and Vanessa and Dave. And we’re not even at Ultimatum Day yet!

But why did Chanel and Micah leave The Ultimatum? And, are Chanel and Micah from The Ultimatum Season 3 still together? Here’s everything we know.

Are Chanel and Micah still together from The Ultimatum Season 3?

The answer to this is a very clear yes according to social media. People who have broken up don’t delete all their other Instagram pictures and leave only a carousel of pictures of the two of them together. They might not have released a statement confirming they are together, but the pictures are a statement, in a way.

Chanel and Micah chose not to attend The Ultimatum reunion where the show caught up with the other contestants, which meant we didn’t get to hear the reasons why they decided the experiment wasn’t for them. But it feels like the couple, who came into the experiment pretty committed to each other and yet not seeing eye to eye on timing, just didn’t want to actually try to date other people. Not when it came down to it.

This isn’t Love is Blind, after all. These aren’t single people exploring possible new connections. These are people already in relationships “trying” their hand at a new relationship, while still having feelings for their partner. That doesn’t work for everyone, and it clearly wasn’t what Chanel and Micah wanted. The two of them haven’t commented publicly about their decision, but they have made the fact that they are committed to each other pretty clear. The photos speak for themselves about how happy they are together these days.
