Every week, a group of people aren’t given a rose on The Bachelor. However during week three of ABC reality TV dating show, one contestant mysteriously dropped out of the show.
Grant Ellis and his contestants went out on a fun group date playing basketball. When it came down to individual one-on-one dates, Parisa Shifteh told the cameras, “Today was supposed to be Beverly’s one-on-one with Grant. But yesterday morning she was very sick. And we found out that she will not be coming back to the house.”

Beverly was a promising candidate for Grant. The 30-year-old insurance salesperson from Howard Beach, New York looked forward to being endgame with him, but her time was cut short.
After the group date, Beverly got some rest to prepare for her one-on-one. She took a brief nap and was excited to have the mansion to herself. She kept throwing up and experienced intense stomach pain that was worsening by the minute—lasting 12 hours. She recalled the moment with Joe Amiable and Serena Pitt on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “They ended up taking me to the hospital because I was not okay,” she said. “They gave me IV, morphine, and the pain went away. The doctor came in and said, ‘You have appendicitis, you’re going to have to get surgery.’
It was an emotional time for Beverly because she wasn’t surrounded by her loved ones. She had surgery and spent about a month recovering, both physically and emotionally. “We were building a connection, and he was feeling everything that we were seeing and feeling. We did have a lot of cute moments,” she said. “I didn’t get to tell him what happened. So I was like, ‘I hope he didn’t think I left just because!’”
Beverly still hopes to appear on The Bachelor when she’s fully recovered. “America didn’t get to really see me,” she said. “I’m silly and funny and goofy. Obviously, I have a serious side to me as well.” She’s also manifesting for a Bachelor in Paradise appearance. “I feel like, if I made it further, I wouldn’t have considered Paradise,” she admitted. “But because I didn’t make it that far, yes. I do want to get married. I’m 30 years old. I’m ready for kids and family.”
