Warning: Love Is Blind Season 8 spoilers ahead. Love Is Blind Season 8, set in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been a bit chaotic to start with. The pod episodes featured plenty of screen times for couples who didn’t even make it out of the show, and the first batch of episodes ended with Taylor accusing Daniel of following her on Instagram before the show and then unfollowing her. Meanwhile, the second batch of episodes gave us Lauren and Dave’s drama over her ex.
But Monica and Joey have been more or less steady throughout it all. However, rainclouds might be coming up—particularly considering that Monica’s sister seemed anything but accepting of the two when Monica took Joey home and introduced him to his family. Not to mention that in the trailer for the next batch of episodes, Monica is heard saying she’s ‘into it more than he is’ in discussing her relationship with Joey.

Love is Blind is synonymous with drama at this point. The Netflix reality TV dating show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, follows a group of singles who agree to not just date in pods without ever seeing one another, but to propose marriage before they’re allowed to see what the other person looks like. From there, the couples have only weeks to decide if they really want to go through with the wedding, or part ways forever.
Will Monica and Joey make it to the altar? It might depend on how the relationship with her sister goes. And if the last few episodes are to be believed, winning Monica’s sister over might not be easy. But, what happened with Monica’s sister in Love is Blind Season 8?

Monica’s sister Nicole showed up at the end of the second batch of episodes of Love is Blind Season 8, as Monica takes Joey to introduce him to her family. The vibes are good in general with everyone, except Monica’s sister. In fact, Monica’s sister comes off as incredibly judgmental, asking Joey why he is single and then, in a private conversation with Monica, remarking that he seems like “a good actor.”
She also tells Monica she could do better than Joey, and remarks on how he isn’t her type—even saying something about how she’s supposed to get married first. Later, Joey tells Monica that he doesn’t think her sister liked him, asking, “Has she ever thought anyone was good enough for you? Just wondering if there’s any jealousy aspects in there, coming from an outsider’s perspective. Cause why has she never ever approved of one of your significant others? It sounds like there might be some unresolved issues.”

Monica reassured him, saying, “Well, you did nothing wrong, I want to make that incredibly clear. You did nothing wrong at all. She is just tough with really anyone, friend or otherwise. And what she said to me, she is just worried about if we are good for each other.”
People seem to agree with Joey’s assessment of Monica’s sister, with one fan saying on X, “Wooooooooow Monica’s sister is straight TRASH. Just because you want to get married first, Monica isn’t allowed to get married? Also being divorced isn’t a bad thing – being in a marriage that isn’t working is.”
Another person added, “Oof… Monica’s sister is the Kourtney Kardashians of the family. She’s dating a guy who was in love with Monica and is bitter she’s gonna walk down the aisle first. Show me more of this messiness.”
However, Nicole seemed to redeem herself by the wedding—refraining from making any derogatory comments towards her sister’s fiancé. She explained why she made those comments and apologized to Joey direct.
