Patrick Schwarzenegger Just Revealed Whether His Nude Scene in The White Lotus Was Real or Fake
Warning: Minor The White Lotus Season 3 spoilers ahead. It’s a weird thing to be thinking about as you watch The White Lotus, but it’s impossible to deny that the main question in the show has left after its first few episodes has very little to do with who is dead or who the killer is, and more to do with Patrick Schwarzenegger’s penis. Or, at least, with that nude scene featuring Schwarzenegger’s character Saxon Ratliff.
The White Lotus is a black comedy anthology series, which follows the guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain and their various interpersonal issues. The show’s description itself states that every day in the resort “a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel’s cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself.” Season 1 of the show was filmed in Hawaii and Season 2 in Sicily, while Season 3 was filmed in Thailand. The show has already been renewed for Season 4.

But why are people so focused on Patrick Schwarzenegger’s penis? Is he wearing a prosthetic for the scene? And, can we expect more nude scenes from Schwarzenegger during this season of The White Lotus?
The White Lotus nude scene explained
Season 3 of The White Lotus jumps right into the nudity, with the first episode of the season showcasing Schwarzenegger’s Saxon Ratliff hitting on multiple women. He, however, gets nowhere with them and ends the episode in his room alongside his little brother. At the end of the scene, we see him head to the bathroom so he can masturbate in peace. As he does so, he reveals his bare ass, and perhaps a little bit more. But since the character’s back is to the screen and he never fully turns around, we do not get a full-frontal view of Schwarzenegger.
As for whether what we saw is all him, Schwarzenegger told Esquire, “Yes, that’s my real butt. No stand-in. Once I read the script, I knew what was coming, but before that, I didn’t.” No comment on whether he was wearing a prosthetic penis during the scene or not, at least not yet.
If he knew what was coming, it was because The White Lotus had been here before. In Season 1 the show gives us a glimpse of Mark Mossbacher’s (Steve Zahn) swollen testicles. “I didn’t even have to do that part,” Zahn told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “It’s somebody else wearing a prosthetic. That’s about as absurd as it gets, right?” In Season 2, Theo James famously used a prosthetic penis for his nude scenes.
How did Schwarzenegger’s family react to his nude scene? Well, his dad Arnold had enough to say for an Instagram post of its own celebrating his son. “I was so pumped to take a break from filming to celebrate @patrickschwarzenegger at the White Lotus Season 3 premiere. What a show! I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Don’t miss it this Sunday – trust me,” the caption read.
His mom, Maria Shriver also commented on the nude scene, saying, “My kids were like, ‘Did you see that?’ And I was like, ‘No. What?’ So that shows you — a mother’s eyes are always on the kids’ eyes.”
Someone who did have something to say about Patrick Schwarzenegger’s penis was, surprisingly, his brother-in-law Chris Pratt, who joked, “I know where my eyes went—I’m not blood-related to him, I was looking at that dick, bro,” he said to E! News. “No, he looks amazing. Obviously, he’s a physical specimen, but also he’s a really solid actor because the character he’s playing is completely different than who he is.”
As for Patrick Schwarzenegger, he made it clear there are more scenes he won’t be watching with this family. “Episodes 5 and 6, there will be some times that I take some bathroom breaks from the family, or maybe I won’t watch that episode.” So, now we know. More is coming.
