Meghan Markle
Netflix

Meghan Markle’s new show With Love, Meghan debuted on the Netflix Top 10 despite critics calling it out of touch and reports that Netflix is looking to cut its losses. In the lifestyle series the Duchess of Sussex, who has now adopted the surname Sussex as her last name to match her family, alongside celebrity friends like Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, and Alice Waters share personal tips, recipes, and tricks, to showcase the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship. It’s not the scripted type of acting we’re used to seeing her on, but she is back in front of the camera regularly for the first time in a while.

After all, most of us remember Markle from her series regular role in the law drama Suits. Later, she’d go on to marry Prince Harry in a fairytale wedding. A few years later the two walked away from being working royals and moved to the United States. Now, Markle is debuting a new Netflix show, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s fifth project with Netflix.

With Love, Meghan was originally set to premiere in January but was pushed back due to the Los Angeles wildfires. The show’s premiere, however, has given people a lot to talk about, from the recipes to questions about whether house the show was filmed in and whether it is Markle’s real house, and the celebrities she’s familiar with.

But will this be With Love’s only season? Will the show return for more tips, celebrities and glimpses at the Duchess of Sussex’s life? Here’s everything we know.

Is With Love, Meghan Canceled or Renewed for Season 2?

Meghan Markle

Netflix has not confirmed whether With Love, Meghan will have a second season or not. It seems not even royalty can escape the streamer’s lofty standards. However, it’s important to note that all the previous projects the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done with the streamer have been one-season projects, so this might have been conceived as a one-season show and not a multiple-season one. That, however, doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

With Love, Meghan is the kind of show that could, conceivably, span many seasons. It’s basically the Duchess of Sussex taking us through her life, her friendships, and a lot of what she does on the daily. It’s clear she didn’t feature everyone she knows on the show in the first season, so there’s a lot of room to expand if she and Netflix are willing to go there. It might all depend on how well the show does, how much goodwill there actually is, and what other projects there are in the pipeline.

For example, if both Netflix and Meghan and Harry have other projects they’re interested in developing together, a second season of With Love, Meghan might not be a priority for anyone, particularly considering it’s a format they already tried. If the relationship is indeed broken, then the Duke and Duchess might just part ways with the streamer. If, however, this was something Meghan really enjoyed doing, her friends really enjoyed doing as well and it does really well for the streamer, well…we might just find ourselves with more seasons of the show. Only time will tell.
