If you thought Love is Blind was the wildest thing Netflix could throw at you in the reality TV dating show sphere, wait until you watch Temptation Island. The show, which literally brings four couples to an island to “test their love” and see if they can resist temptation by placing the men and women in separate villas filled with eligible singles and having them go on dates with said singles, is the streamers newest foray into reality TV. Except it’s not actually new.
Temptation Island, hosted by Mark L. Walberg, is a reality show that originally aired on Fox and later on USA Network. Netflix’s newest iteration is technically its ninth season, and features four couples: Ashley and Grant, who have been dating for 1.5 years, Alexa and Lino, who have been dating for 3.5 years, Brion and Shante, who have been dating for 1 year and Tayler and Tyler, who have been dating for 2.5 years.

By the time the ten episodes of the show—which, unlike Love Is Blind, Netflix released all together, so you can binge the entire mess in one sitting—are over, there’s been one threesome, two messy breakups, and one engagement. But which couples left Temptation Island together? What happened to Alexa and Lino? And, are they still together on Temptation Island?

Alexa and Lino are the steady couple of Temptation Island, from the beginning. If there’s such a thing, considering they are on, you know, Temptation Island. They quickly reveal they are on the show because Lino feels “second best,” since at the beginning of their relationship Alexa was dating two men at once. That was over three years ago, but Lino hasn’t been able to get over it and feels unable to take the final step towards the commitment Alexa wants.
For his part, Alexa feels like she can only apologize so many times. She feels like at this point, she’s proven that she’s committed and there’s not much she can do if Lino won’t believe her.
In the beginning, they are the one couple that doesn’t set any hard boundaries on each other, pretty ironic as they are also the one couple that doesn’t even come close to breaking any boundaries. The two have their ups and downs through the process, with Lino having his moments of doubt after hearing Alexa say she doesn’t need him. Alexa, meanwhile, doubts Lino’s commitment after hearing him say that he built her up into an independent woman. But when it comes time to send each other a message of reassurance, they both do that and tell each other not just that they love each other, but that they are here for each other.
By the time the final dates come, Lino uses his time with his final date to get advice on how to propose—after making sure he calls Alexa’s dad to ask for his blessing. At the final bonfire, the two profess their love for each other and go over any lingering questions before confirming to Mark they want to leave the island together, not that anyone had any doubts.
And yes, Lino does pop the question right then and there. Trust the man to use the spotlight when he has it. He gets down on one knee and proposes to Alexa to end the show on a good note after so much drama. She says yes, of course as they both turn to the camera and say “Thank you, Temptation Island.” Ironic, we know. They’ve given no update after the engagement, but all signs point to the couple still going strong. When a fan asked Alexa if she’s still engaged to Lino, she replied, “I hope so!” Trust us and Instagram!
