Love Is Blind Season 8 is now over, and with that, we mean fully over, including the reunion. We know what happened, we know who stayed together, who broke up, who tried it again, and who doesn’t like each other even a year later. The tea has all been served. The drama is all out in the open. And boy, was it a lot of drama. Though if we’re being fair, there was drama from the beginning, with Taylor thinking Daniel followed her then unfollowed her on Instagram, then Dave being unable to deal with Lauren casually hooking up with someone before she went on the show, not to mention those TikToks about Ben.
The Netflix reality dating show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, focuses on a group of singles who commit to getting to know each other sight unseen. They further agree that they will only get to meet if the relationship progresses to the point of engagement. It’s a wild premise, but the show has a pretty good track record, with a total of eleven couples still together. That’s more than The Bachelor.

Season 8 of the show, set in Minneapolis, Minnesota gave us five couples that chose to get engaged coming out of the pods: Monica and Joey, Taylor and Daniel, Sara and Ben, Lauren and Dave, and Virginia and Devin. However, the Love is Blind reunion showed that only Taylor and Daniel were still together, and as for the rest… there was drama. And there were women looking beautiful and knowing their worth, including Monica in a red dress and looking regal. In fact, Monica looked so good at the Love Is Blind reunion that she’s gotten people talking.

Monica’s look at the reunion wasn’t noticeably different, though Reddit has been rife with speculation that she’s had everything from “botox” to “fillers” to “teeth whitening” with some going as far as to call her reunion look “unrecognizable.” The truth, however, seems to be that Monica just got glam professional makeup for the reunion, just as every one of the girls did. That, combined with a formal dress, professional hairdo, and a tan made her look different than what we were used to from the show.
If you look at her closely, though, there isn’t all that much difference from the Monica from the show. Well, other than the fact that this Monica is actually calling out Joey. “Joey and I do not talk,” Monica told E! outside of the reunion, explaining more of her mindset. “Joey’s tried to reach out to me and I’m exhausted. I don’t have time. I tried to have a romantic relationship with Joey—that didn’t work out. I tried to have a friendship with Joey—that didn’t work out.”
She also shared with the outlet that she knew since the night before the wedding that she was going to say no. “The moment I knew I would say no at the altar was the night before. I was really thinking about everything, and I never got what I needed from Joey. I never got the, ‘I’m committed to you’ from Joey that goes beyond just the saying, ‘I love you.'”
As the reunion proved, she’s now moved on and is looking better than ever. She also, in recent pictures, looks exactly like she looked in the first few episodes of Love is Blind. So there goes that theory.
