The Truth to ‘Shocking’ Reports Love Is Blind‘s Sara & Joey Are Dating After Their Bitter Breakups From Ben & Monica
Love Is Blind Season 8 has come and gone, and at this point, even Netflix has moved on to another reality dating show. Enter Temptation Island and an entirely new drama. We, after all, already know what happened, who stayed together, who broke up, who tried it again, and who doesn’t like each other from Season 8 of Love is Blind. In fact, we might even know something about new romances blossoming. That’s right, there might still be love to be found in the show about finding love sight unseen.
The reality show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, focuses on a group of singles who commit to getting to dating in pods and only seeing one another after they agree to marry each other. An out-there premise, for sure, but one that has so far worked out better than anyone had a right to expect. More couples in eight seasons than The Bachelor has in its entire run.

Season 8 of the show, set in Minneapolis, Minnesota gave us five couples coming out of the pods: Monica and Joey, Taylor and Daniel, Sara and Ben, Lauren and Dave, and Virginia and Devin. At the Love is Blind finale, we learned that only one of those had actually gotten married, and the reunion confirmed that despite some of those couples trying to make it work after, only Taylor and Daniel were still together. However, there are rumors about two former contestants maybe finding love with each other.
But, are Sara and Joey actually dating after their respective breakups with Ben and Monica? Here’s what we know.
Are Sara and Joey dating after Love Is Blind breakups with Ben and Monica?
No, Sara and Joey are not dating. Sara denied the rumors in an interview on “The Viall Files” podcast on March 13. “I’ve seen this a few times online in the past 24 hours,” she said. “Well, to be clear, me and Joey are not dating.” She continued, “There was a love square between me, Monica, Ben and Joey. We were all talking to each other until the second to last day in the pods. Of course, naturally in that circumstance, you do connect with people. I feel like me and Joey did establish a really great friendship.”
According to Sara, she “didn’t really talk” to Joey again until “five months” after filming ended. “[Joey] and five other people visited me in Nashville and we called ourselves the ‘Yee-Haw Crew,’ like, it’s such a good time,” Sara said. “We grew really, really close with each other just because of the support for each other, knowing what we’ve all been through and being able to be there for one another. It’s been super important to me.”
She continued, “This whole situation, I’ve felt very close with Joey. I’m fond of our relationship, but I [also] feel very well-supported by all those involved. I’m just very grateful that I’ve met him, but, yeah, we definitely have a friendship. We’re definitely not dating.”
When asked whether she and Joey could date in the future, Sara played coy. “I don’t know what the future will hold,” Sara said. “But, I do know for right now, I definitely have no capacity to even think about a relationship.”
Rumors of Sara and Joey’s romance were first reported on the “Reality Receipts” podcast, where the host reported: “We’ve heard from a few sources now that Joey is dating someone else from season eight and that person is Sara, so that’s shocking.” The host went on to add, “Apparently they were spotted in a hair salon together, and then people very close to the situation have confirmed that they are dating. They were sitting together at the reunion, but they didn’t touch each other.”
“Apparently, they’re just waiting for things to die to announce it. Some people have said ‘maybe they’re just friends’ whilst others have said ‘no, they’re for sure dating.”
The podcast also claimed that Sara and Joey’s romance had been going on for a while, perhaps even right after the events we heard during the reunion that Sara and Ben and Monica and Joey briefly dated after their breakups in the finale. “Apparently they’ve been hanging out for a year and if I had to call it I’d say they were dating but they’re keeping it under wraps because Joey’s getting a lot of heat right now, Sara is also getting a lot of heat right now for even continuing to entertain Ben.”
“And I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to come out and say ‘no we’re just friends’ then six months from now, saying it evolved into a relationship.”
