The Real Reason Fans Called Temptation Island‘s Host ‘Creepy’ Based on This ‘Distracting’ Cosmetic Procedure
Temptation Island is the newest Netflix offering in the reality TV dating show sphere and it already feels like it’s left Love is Blind behind when it comes to drama. And with a premise as wild as it has, how could it not? Sure, Love is Blind has singles dating in pods, but that’s really got nothing on Temptation Island, which brings four couples to an island to “test their love” and see if they can resist temptation by placing the men and women in separate villas which are filled with eligible singles and having them go on dates with said singles.
But Temptation Island isn’t actually a new idea, even though Netflix’s new iteration is being branded as Season 1. The show, hosted by Mark L. Walberg, originally aired on Fox and later on USA Network. So, technically, it’s in the ninth season at this point. This ninth season features four couples: Ashley and Grant, who have been dating for 1.5 years, Alexa and Lino, who have been dating for 3.5 years, Brion and Shante, who have been dating for 1 year and Tayler and Tyler, who have been dating for 2.5 years.
And, as expected, those four couples bring plenty of drama.

By the time the ten episodes of the show—which, unlike Love Is Blind, Netflix released all together—are over, we got to see one threesome, two messy breakups, two new couples who decided to leave the island together, and even one engagement. But we also got to see one host who quickly became a fan favorite because of his surprisingly good advice. Is Marky Mark, as some of the contestants called him, on everyone’s side? And why does he always look so good? Is it a tan? Is it veneers? What is going on with him? Here’s what we know.
Does Temptation Island host Mark L Walberg have veneers?
Reddit was pretty sure host Mark L. Walberg did indeed have veneers, with people calling them “distracting,” “blinding,” “creepy” and “practically neon.” But, despite the comments on his veneers, most of the people came to bat for him pretty hard, saying things like,“We gonna overlook that because Mark is a mf’ing legend and an absolute gem 💎🙌”
Not that people were forgetting the issue at hand. “Let me preface this by saying Mark Walberg is the 🐐and Iove him…BUT…those Turkey teeth are distracting!” and “I love him. I want him to host reunions and tell alls of my other trash shows. All of them. But my dude, what is you doing?”
There’s been no confirmation that Walberg did have veneers, but it’s fair to say that the show speaks for itself. But Walberg’s good advice to the contestants and his patience and kind understanding in the face of some very questionable decisions, also speaks for itself. Being the host of Temptation Island comes with a lot of challenges, and Walberg has been around from the beginning. And people seem to love him a lot more than some other reality show hosts around. Which is saying a lot, all things considered.
