White Lotus Killer
HBO

Warning: Minor The White Lotus Season 3 spoilers ahead. The White Lotus has always been a pretty shocking show. Whether it’s because people are fixated on specific talking points about nudity, incest, or the central mystery of who is dead or who the killer is, the show has done a great job at keeping fans talking week in and week out. In the end, though, with the finale coming up, it always comes back to the question of who the killer is.

The White Lotus is a black comedy anthology series following the guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort chain. The first season of the show was filmed in Hawaii, Season 2 in Sicily, and Season 3 in Thailand. A fourth season has already been confirmed. Every season, the show has followed a central mystery—with a murder and a killer, who is typically not revealed until the last episode.

We still don’t know the answer to who the killer is, but fans have their theories and their suspects.

Who is the killer in The White Lotus Season 3?

The White Lotus Season 3

Perhaps the most obvious suspect is Gary, who was previously known as Greg. We already know he’s not a good guy, as he was involved in Tanya’s death in Season 2. Plus, he’s just lying about his name. The baseline is shady there. But that also seems to be the thing that exonerates him. He’s just too obviously the bad guy to be the bad guy. And sure, his reaction to Chloe telling him he spent the night on a boat parting with Saxon and Lochlan is downright suspicious. But he’s too suspicious to actually be the killer. He has to be the red herring, right?

Saxon Ratliff is a better choice for the killer, if we’re being honest. There’s his weird relationship with both of his siblings and the fact that Saxon didn’t really seem to take well to the news that he and his brother took their weird incestuous relationship from the subtext into reality. Now, that might make someone do something rash, wouldn’t it?

Fans are also pretty sure the gunshots The White Lotus Season 3 opened with are another red herring, and the real murder is going to be related to that poisonous fruit that was pointed out in the first episode. If so, another possibility for the murderer could be Timothy Ratliff, played by Jason Isaacs.

“I think the shooting is unrelated to the body Zion finds in the opening of Season 3. It’s either Victoria or Lochlan,” a fan wrote on The White Lotus subreddit. “Timothy, feeling cornered with nowhere to go, will whip up a smoothie laced with seeds from that poisonous fruit Pam points out in episode 1. He’ll get distracted by something and Lochlan / Victoria will knock it back thinking it’s harmless and succumb to the poisoning a few hours before the shooting takes place.”

There’s another tragic theory for how this season could end, and it’s one that feels very much like what The White Lotus has done in the past. This one’s just more devastating. The theory popped up in the comments of @popcultureari and goes pretty much the same as what we mentioned before, it just brings up the possibility that all 3 Ratliff kids could end up drinking the smoothie, since Chelsea keeps mentioning that bad things happen in threes.

Now that would be a twist in a show that has already thrown quite a few twists our way.
