THE MASKED SINGER: Nessy in the THE MASKED SINGER episode “Boy Band Night” airing Wednesday, April 2 (8:00-9:02 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Michael Becker

The Loch Ness Monster might seem scary in theory, but Nessy just made their monumental singing debut on The Masked Singer.

The elusive monster made his The Masked Singer debut singing the classic rock anthem “Roxanne” by The Police. Some of the judges were convinced that it was another rock legend with Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong thinking that it was Daryl Hall from Hall and Oates. But were they right?

Who’s Nessy on The Masked Singer?

Our best guess for Nessy is Edwin McCain Take a look at the clues below.

Episode 7

  • “Becoming Nessy just makes sense. I too am a gentle giant. I stick my neck out for the people I love — and I’m a little bit mysterious. Like that Loch Ness monster, some would call me a legend, but I’m a pretty private guy. Unless you venture deep into the acres of my estate, you might never catch a glimpse of me.”

Being private refers to his 1993 album Solitude.

  • “Most of my neighbors, and even my mailman, don’t realize that I’m that guy with all the success. But this elusiveness is by my design. It allows me to live the best of both worlds. I get the glory and the solitude of my family. So now, as Nessy, I’m coming out of hiding to rock this stage with a classic. I hope I got this competition on Loch.”

Could be a reference to his 1991 album Nomadic Logic.

Episode 8

  • “I was fighting these guys for TRL spots, charts, and CD sales — but there was one boy band that kept getting in my way: ‘NSync. We always seemed to be neck-and-neck and it tore up my heart when those boys constantly came out on top.

‘NSync and McCain battled it out during those years.

McCain has collaborated with REO Speedwagon so many times.

  • “Bieber & Puth.”

Charlie uth and Justin Bieber have covered “I’ll Be.”
