Jen on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

The drama never stops on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but could MomTok be down a member? After she suddenly stopped filming in the middle of Season 2, fans can’t help but wonder whether Jen left The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (and MomTok) or if she’ll be back for more drama next season.

Did Jen leave The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

Jen ceased filming on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in Season 2, Episode 6, due to the stress around her pregnancy. “Out of respect for Jen’s privacy, production has made the decision to stop filming with her at this time so she can focus on her mental health,” a slide read after Jen’s last scene on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2.

While Jen wasn’t featured in the rest of Season 2, her husband, Zac Affleck, did film a scene in Episode 7, where he gave an update to Jen’s mental health to castmates Whitney and Conner Leavitt. During the scene, Zac explained that Jen felt uncomfortable filming with castmate Demi Engemann because she reportedly sent her a cease and desist for suggested that Demi cheated on her husband, Bret Engemann, with Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette while filming Season 2 of the reality show. Jen’s allegation came as Demi accused Jen of telling lies about her marriage to Zac, including that Zac’s family is related to Ben Affleck and that he gambled his medical school tuition during a trip to Las Vegas in Season 1.

Are Jen & Zac Are Still Together From The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

So did Jen leave The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? It doesn’t seem so. While Jen didn’t film the rest of Season 2—aside she texted in the MomTok group chat shown in Episode 9—Jen has been included in the press for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 and attended the premiere in May 2025.

She also still has The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in her Instagram biography and has been posting about the show. And while she wasn’t shown in the preview for the second part of Season 2—which mainly revolved around rumors that castmate Jessi Ngatikaura was the one who cheated on her husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, with Marciano—it doesn’t seem like Jen is done with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives or MomTok completely.

As of writing, Jen also follows the entire Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast—including Demi—on Instagram, so she still has a connection to the cast. (Demi, for her part, doesn’t follow Jen back.)

In an interview with Us Weekly in May 2025, Jen also revealed that her mental state (and her relationship with Zac) has improved a lot since filming Season 2, which hints that she may be back now that she’s recovered. “It was definitely rocky after season 2. We were both in a different mindset and there’s a lot to navigate,” Jen said. “With me doing the show and Zac in medical school, we’re kind of finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel after all of that chaos.”

Jen went on to call her and Zac’s experience on Season 2 “the worst of what hapepned in our relationship.” She continued, “But again, it is all things that we’re grateful for and I hope we can talk more about it after everyone has seen season 2. I haven’t seen season 2 so I don’t really know what happens. There is effort on both ends of a relationship and you’re both willing to put in that work. You can always make it work and that’s kind of what happens.”

Jen also suggested that her break from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is what eventually helped her mental health and her and Zac’s relationship. “[This experience] forced me to get help when it came to my mental health because I knew that it wasn’t just affecting me, — it was affecting this baby that was coming into this life,” she said. “So it really was the biggest blessing that could have happened in our marriage. It was really what made a shift in my life and made me realize no matter what happens in our marriage, I want to be the best version of myself.”

She also hinted that she’d be in the second half of Season 2 after taking a break from the first part. “I don’t think I was that beginning of season 2 and pregnancy is what ultimately led me to that. Now that I’m in a better place, I’m truly grateful for this baby and all this pregnancy journey has taught me,” she said.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives streams on Hulu.
