The American Music Awards are FINALLY back! After a two-year hiatus, the world’s largest fan-voted award show is ready to take over your screens with awesome performances from Gwen Stefani, Benson Boone, and Renee Rapp.
The 2025 AMAs is a special one because it will be the first regularly aired show since 2022. In 2024, the American Music Awards broadcast a 50th anniversary special. This show will be the first one to air on CBS and the first to be held outside of Los Angeles as it will take place in Las Vegas.
Where to watch the AMAs: Paramount+, CBS on DirectTV, or Hulu+ With Live TV
Date: Monday, May 26
Time: 8 p.m. local time
Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s nominees with 10 nominations, followed closely by Post Malone with eight nods, and Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Shaboozey with seven each.
Janet Jackson will receive the Icon Award, which recognizes an artist whose body of work has had a global influence over the music industry. The 11-time American Music Award-winner will also take the stage for the first time in seven years.
The AMAs are available to stream and watch online directly on Paramount+ and on CBS on services like DirecTV Stream and Hulu+ With Live TV. DirecTV Stream offers a five-day free trial, and starts at $85.99 per month after the trial ends. While Hulu+ With Live TV doesn’t have a free trial, it offers a great deal starting at $81.99 per month.
Paramount+ is offering a seven-day free trial for new users who subscribe to Paramount+ With SHOWTIME. After the free trial, the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME Plan currently costs $12.99 per month or $119.99 a year. Paramount+ Essential members won’t be able to stream the show live. But with both plans, after the telecast, you can stream the AMAs anytime on the streaming service.
Direct TV is our best overall pick to watch the AMAs for free for its free trial, price, and channel selection. DirecTV Stream offers a five-day free trial. DirecTV offers four plans: Entertainment, which costs $85.99 per month; Choice, which costs $89.99 per month; Ultimate, which costs $119.99 per month, and Premier, which costs $164.99 per month. However, right now, you can score Choice for $79.99 per month, Ultimate for $109.99 per month, and Premier for $154.99 per month. That comes out to $10 in savings for those three plans, though all four plans offer CBS.
Hulu+ With Live TV is our best upgrade pick to watch the AMAs on CBS based on its channel selection and its free subscriptions to Hulu, Disney Plus, and ESPN Plus. Hulu+ With Live TV offers four plans: a $82.99 per month plan with access to only live TV; a $82.99 per month plan with free subscriptions to Hulu with ads, Disney Plus with ads, and ESPN Plus with ads; a $87.99 per month plan with free subscriptions to Hulu with ads, Disney Plus with no ads, and ESPN Plus with ads; and a $95.99 per month plan with free subscriptions to Hulu with no ads, Disney Plus with no ads, and ESPN Plus with ads. Read on for step-by-step instructions on how to watch CBS with Hulu+ Live TV.
