He’s been with the UK dating show ever since the beginning, and when word spread that Iain Stirling was leaving Love Island UK, many fans went into panic.
The rumor started when a TikTok that seemed like a screenshot from Stirling’s social media went viral on the social media app. “Unfortunately I have quit being a voiceover for Love Island UK, however I will still be carrying on for the USA version,” the post read. “Making this decision wasn’t easy and Love Island UK will always have a special spot in my heart, words cannot describe how much love I have for every one of you and I wish best for the next voiceover [sic].”

But is the post true? Is Iain Stirling only doing the voiceover for Love Island USA?
Luckily enough for Love Island fans, Iain Stirling is returning to both Love Island UK and Love Island USA. When the rumors emerged, a source told The Sun, that the rumors “are just not true.”
“He’s a huge part of the Love Island family and loved by fans,” the source continued. Stirling has been the narrating voice since 2015 for the UK-based show. “Iain is fully expected to make a return to the summer series.”
The Love Island fame hasn’t really gotten to the comedian’s head. “It’s weird,” he told The Sunday Post about being recognized. “It means I get to perform to more people, which is nice. Generally speaking, people are really lovely. It’s quite good doing voiceover because as long as I don’t say anything I’m normally all right. In Edinburgh, I’m more likely to get recognised from going to school with someone’s brother!”
He also talked with GQ, about how he brings a sort of personality to the villa’s residents. “As far as the schtick, I liked the idea that ‘Iain the voiceover’ would be obsessed with the Islanders,” he told the outlet. “He’s quite starstruck by them. But at the same time, if any contestant walked into a room, he just wouldn’t know who they are. They’re like aliens. He can’t even comprehend that they are people. Because the cast members really are characters on a show, not people. You are seeing such a small percentage of how that person acts in a villa. I always say you can’t love or hate anyone on that show. You can like them or dislike them as a character, but you don’t know who they are. I think that’s a mistake that’s made on social media quite frequently.”
