Love Island USA‘s Nic’s Family Revealed What They Really Think of Olandria Amid Casa Amor’s Controversial Twist

From the moment he kissed her blindfolded in Episode 2, Nicolandria shippers have been calling for Nic and Olandria to couple up on Love Island USA Season 7. Now that their dream has come true, fans are resurfacing social media posts from Nic’s family, and it looks like they’re onboard with Nicolandria as well.
Nic Vansteenberghe, a 24-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, and Olandria Carthen, a 27-year-old from Decatur, Alabama, were two original contestants who joined Love Island USA Season 7 on Day 1. Olandria coupled up with Taylor Williams, a 25-year-old from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, while Nic coupled up with Belle-A, a 22-year-old from Honolulu, Hawaii, before recoupling with Cierra Ortega, a 25-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona.

Nic and Olandria were coupled up with Cierra and Taylor, respectively, until Love Island USA‘s Casa Amor twist in Week 3. The two were eliminated after the second day of Casa Amor after they failed to couple up with any of the new bombshells. However, they were thrown a lifeline by Love Island USA when they found themselves on a date after their eliminations and received a text informing them that they could either return to the villa as a couple or go home single. Needless to say, they chose to couple up and stay on the show.
From the start, Love Island USA viewers have shipped Nic and Olandria after Olandria chose to kiss Nic at the first coupling and Nic returned the favor at the next challenge when he kissed Olandria while she was blindfolded. For the next couple weeks, Nic continued to choose to kiss Olandria during challenges, but the two never pursued anything romantic—that is, until now.
Nicolandria even has the support of Nic’s mom and sister. In a TikTok live before Nic and Olandria officially coupled up, Nic’s mom showed her support of the two getting together. “I felt a spark with him and Olandria initially. I felt like they had this passionate thing between them and I like her because she’s got a good head on her shoulders and she’s very authentic. She’s solid. And she’s beautiful. Jesus, I’m so jealous of her body,” Nic’s mom said, as his sister, Ella, added, “We love her.”
His mom continued, “I don’t really feel like they’re making the connection every episode, but I would love to see it.”
Ella maintained that she and Nic’s mom still like Cierra for him, even if they also ship him with Olandria. “We still like Cierra. We think she’s really cool,” Ella said, as Nic’s mom added, “We haven’t seen that much of her maybe to really understand who she is.” Ella added, “I don’t think they’re being shown a lot, which is fine.”
Ariana Madix, the host of Love Island USA, also confirmed she’s a fan of Nicolandria in response to a fan who wrote, “Ariana! Thank you for Nicolandria girl I know you made this happen. THANK YOU QUEEN.” Ariana wrote back, “tbh they made it happen themselves. great bday present for me tho.”
She also responded to another fan who wrote, “ariana did you get the zoomies around your hotel room when you saw nicolandria in soul ties because that’s what the rest of us did seeing it.” She replied, “yes lol and it was on my bday.”
