They never said they were perfect, but are Amaya and Bryan still together from Love Island USA Season 7? They have a better chance than most couples due to one reason.
Amaya Espinal, a 25-year-old from New York City, New York, joined Love Island USA Season 7 as a bombshell on Day 5, while Bryan Arenales, a 27-year-old from Boston, Massachusetts, entered the villa on Day 17 as a Casa Amor boy. Amaya and Bryan coupled up on Day 16 after failed romances with islanders like Ace Greene, Zak Srakaew, and Andreina Santos-Marte, and stayed together until the Love Island USA Season 7 finale.

Throughout the season, Amaya also came out as one of the most popular contestants from Love Island USA Season 7, with Google even giving her a banner of the lyrics to her impromptu song in the makeup room when you search her nickname, “Amaya Papapya.” Amaya, who’s also earned the title of the People’s Princess, also became a fan favorite after her numerous one-liners on Love Island USA Season 7, from her metaphors to her mispronunciation of words like “opportunity.” She also won over the audience after her fights with her former partners, Ace and Zak, during the “Stand on Business” challenge, which led Bryan to defend her before they were coupled up together.
So, are Amaya and Bryan still together from Love Island USA? They have one advantage over the other couples from the villa.
Amaya and Bryan are likely not together. Right before the reunion aired on Aug. 25, the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Some TikTokers had alleged that Bryan cheated on Amaya again when a video of him talking to another woman at a restaurant surfaced. In the reunion trailer, host Andy Cohen had asked where Bryan was on the night when the cheating allegedly happened.
Before the breakup rumors, Amaya and Bryan confirmed they were still together in an interview with Variety after the Love Island USA Season 7 finale in mid-July, in which they revealed they were already thinking of kids after winning the $100,000 grand prize. “We want to invest and make sure our future is set up for our future family and kids. A vacation is needed,” Amaya said.
They also revealed how they plan to continue to grow their connection now that they’re out of the villa. “Prioritizing quality time. I want to meet other members of his family, especially his mommy. He needs to meet my siblings. Small things that are very impactful and sentimental to both of us, like going on dates or having movie nights in each other’s houses. We want to enjoy each other’s company now that cameras and mics are off,” Amaya said.
Amaya also confirmed her plans to visit Bryan in Boston. “Hi, Boston! They’re definitely going to be seeing me, because I have to visit my boo. I’m waiting for that truffle pasta,” she told Today.
While the couple live in different cities—Amaya is from New York City, New York, while Bryan lives in Boston, Massachusetts—they do live closer than other Love Island USA Season 7 couples, so it is more possible for them to stay together after leaving the villa. “Obviously, I live in Boston and you live in New York. When it gets to that point, it’s an a lot easier of a transition,” Bryan told Amaya in an episode before the finale. “Do you see yourself coming to New York?” Amaya asked Bryan, who responded, “I was in New York the weekend before I came here.” Amaya added, “Well, our first date has to be in the city… I’m really excited for us. I feel like we have something great growing.”

Amaya and Bryan also have the support of their families, as seen during Family Day on Love Island USA Season 7. “I see the way she’s coupled up with you. I really like it a lot,” Bryan’s dad told him, while his brother added, “You guys are really compatible. She seems to have really nurturing vibes.” Bryan responded, “Oh hell yeah. That’s very important to me. Just because mom has been like that my whole life. She’s super nurturing and she’s like that.”
His dad added, “The first thing your mom said is, ‘We love her eyes and how emotional she is.’ She’s not afraid of showing her emotion.” His brother continued, “You need that in your life.” When asked about how he sees their relationship moving forward, Bryan acknowledged their geographical proximity, “Bro, she’s right there in New York. She’s hella cool. We’ll keep taking steps and see how it goes.”
The couple opened up to Us Weekly about the future of their relationship on July 22, 2025. “[Amaya and I] are exclusive and taking steps to [be boyfriend and girlfriend],” Bryan said. “We care deeply about each other and we don’t want to rush things. Her happiness is very important. My happiness is very important. We got the love that we got [from fans] because we’re letting things happen naturally instead of doing stuff for the public eye, and we’re gonna continue doing that.” Amaya Papaya chimed in, “This is all the start of it. You’ll definitely be seeing me and Bry Bry.”
Fans alleged that Bryan was cheating on Amaya after he and fellow Love Island USA contestant Marco threw a party in New York City. In a TikTok video, Bryan is seen pouring a shot into a woman’s mouth. “Bryan this is not respectful of you. Strike 1,” the video captioned in the overlay. However there’s a lot of proof that they’re still together.
As fans know, distance is one of the main reasons most couples from Love Island USA—and dating shows in general—break up after filming ends, so Amaya and Bryan living so close to each other is a huge plus for their relationship. After Love Island USA Season 5, runners-up Kassy Castillo and Leonardo Dionicio announced that they had split due to the distance between them. (Kassy is from Fort Worth, Texas, while Leo is from West Hartford, Connecticut.)
“No Leo and I are not together, I think it’s just best that we do our own thing right now. It’s long-distance, it’s a lot. I still care for him and wish him all the best. Truly. He was my Love Island experience so he has a special place in my heart,” Kassy said in an Instagram live in 2023.
She continued, “Everything was real and genuine, that’s what makes it harder now. Breakups suck. All that I ask is for everyone to give us time because it’s so new. I care for him so much and I wish it didn’t go this way but I really do think this is for the best. I hope soon… who knows? I’m open to anything in the future but it’s just not aligning. He doesn’t deserve any harsh words or comments.”
While distance was an issue for Leo and Kassy, it’s also possible to make long distance work, like Season 6’s runners-up, Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi. Leah is from Los Angeles, California, while Miguel is from London, United Kingdom.
In an interview with StyleCaster in February 2025, Leah explained that she and Miguel made their relationship work post-Love Island USA because Miguel almost immediately moved to Los Angeles to be closer to her. “It’s always been my dream to have a barn so I can take in foster animals,” Leah told StyleCaster about her and Miguel’s plans to build a house together. “Miguel gets to pick one animal. He wants a cow. I want fainting goats.”
Love Island USA streams on Peacock.
