BACHELOR IN PARADISE - ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 10 stars Hakeem, Brian, Spencer, Dale, Justin, Jonathon, Jeremy, Kyle, Ricky, Sam, Bailey, Alexe, Kat, Zoe, Jess and Lexi
Disney/Bahareh Ritter

What’s a Bachelor Nation show without an engagement? While Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 looks a bit different from seasons before—with a new look, a new resort, a new showrunner, and a new Bachelor Nation alum bartender to join Wells Adams—the season does share a lot of the same aspects as seasons past. So who got engaged on Bachelor in Paradise Season 10? Well, the number may surprise you.

Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 premiered in June 2025 with 16 alums from past seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Like past seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, the contestants went on dates and got to know each other at a resort in Samara, Costa Rica, with the hopes of receiving a rose at the end of each week.

Those who didn’t receive a rose would be eliminated, while those who did would live on for another week as Bachelor in Paradise brought in more Bachelor Nation alums who were determined to break up the existing couples to secure their own spot on the show. Unlike past seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, however, there was a twist that occurred halfway through that changed the history of the show (and Bachelor Nation) forever. Read on for what that twist was and how it affected which couples got engaged.

Who got engaged on Bachelor in Paradise Season 10?

Jess and Spencer on Bachelor in Paradise 2025

According to Reality Steve, Jess Edwards (from The Bachelor Season 28 with Joey Graziadei) and Spencer Conley (from The Bachelorette Season 21 with Jenn Tran) were the only couple to get engaged on Bachelor in Paradise Season 10.

Jess and Spencer coupled up with each other on Day 1, and though they were involved in a love triangle with Sam McKinney, who gave his date card to Jess after arriving on Day 2, Jess offered her rose to Spencer at the first Rose Ceremony. They continued to exchange roses—Spencer gave his to Jess at Rose Ceremony #2, Jess gave hers to Spencer at Rose Ceremony #3, Spencer gave his to Jess at Rose Ceremony #4—until after the fourth Rose Ceremony when Bachelor in Paradise changed its format to incorporate voting for the eliminations.

Reality Steve reported that, after the fourth Rose Ceremony, no new men or women came on Bachelor in Paradise, and the remaining contestants were asked each week to vote out who they wanted to leave Bachelor in Paradise next at each Rose Ceremony. He couldn’t confirm when Jess and Spencer were eliminated, though he did report that Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 had less of an emphasis on engagements like past seasons, which makes Jess and Spencer’s engagement that much more special. He also reported that, for the first time in Bachelor in Paradise history, there was a monetary prize for the final couple, which was more than the $100,000 grand prize given at the end of Love Island USA.

“Because what I do know is that what they’ve done in the past, where Chris/Jesse would come in and tell couples basically, ‘Ok, decide if you want to stay together or break up’ is gone now… I just know that it wasn’t about couples getting engaged as much as in seasons past, and a couple could still be a couple and leave the show because of some sort of vote off,” Reality Steve wrote. He continued, “Was told there was definitely some major drama once this portion of the show started.”

While Jess and Spencer were the only couple to get engaged from Bachelor in Paradise Season 10, Reality Steve reported that foour other couples left the show together: Brian Autz (The Bachelorette Season 21 with Jenn Tran) and Parisa Shifteh (The Bachelor Season 29 with Grant Ellis); Andrew Spencer (The Bachelor Season 17 with Katie Thurston) and Alexe Godin (The Bachelor Season 29 with Grant Ellis); Sean McLaughlin (The Bachelor Season 20 with Charity Lawson) and Allyshia Gupta (The Bachelor Season 29 with Grant Ellis); and Dale Moss (The Bachelorette Season 16 with Clare Crawley) and Kat Izzo (The Bachelor Season 27 with Zach Shallcross)

For Jess and Spencer’s engagement, it’s almost certain the ring was designed by Neil Lane, a celebrity jeweler, who has created engagement rings for The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise since 2008. In a 2016 interview with Entertainment Weekly, former host Chris Harrison revealed that Bachelor Nation couples have to stay together for a certain amount of time, otherwise they have to return the free engagement ring to Neil Lane. “There’s some rule, after a certain number of years, you get to keep it anyway,” he said. “But after months… it goes back.”

Lane told StyleCaster in 2016 that he doesn’t know where the rings go, but that he designs them with the hope that the couple stays together. “I make rings hoping that people stay together forever, but after they get the ring, I don’t have a say in it, and what happens after that, I don’t know,” he said. “Where the ring goes, I have to say, I don’t really know. I just say it goes to ring heaven.”

Both Jess and Spencer were eliminated in Week 6 before Hometown Dates on their respective seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Read their Bachelor and Bachelorette biographies ahead:
