Warning: Love Is Blind Season 9 spoilers ahead. They’ve had one of the most dramatic relationships since leaving The Pods, but are Joe and Madison still together from Love Is Blind Season 9? We found a telling clue to their current relationship status.

Joe Ferrucci, a 29-year-old sales professional, and Madison Maidenberg, a 28-year-old UX/UI designer, were one of six couples to get engaged in The Pods on Love Is Blind Season 9, along with Megan Walerius and Jordan Keltner; Annie Lancaster and Nick Amato; Kalybriah Haskin and Edmond Harvey; Ali Lappe and Anton Yarosh; and Kacie McIntosh and Patrick Suzuki. (Kacie and Patrick broke off their engagement immediately after the reveal.)

While Joe and Madison seemed to form a connection in The Pods, he faced backlash after he revealed in a confessional interview that Madison wasn’t his “usual type” because he preferred “thinner women.” “Yoooooo WHERE DID THEY FIND THESE PEOPLE?!?! Joe saying he usually goes for a thinner women but he’s okay with a larger physique… is the larger physique in the room with us?!?!? #LoveIsBlind #LoveisBlind9,” a user wrote on X.

“You realize she isn’t bigger and has a normal body? Shes got curves !! 😭 really disappointing,” a user commented on Joe’s Instagram. One more user wrote, “Bigger girl? She is not big at all. Shocked.” So are Joe and Madison still together from Love Is Blind Season 9? One clue tells us all we need to know.

Are Joe and Madison still together from Love Is Blind Season 9?

Joe and Madison from Love Is Blind 2025

It doesn’t seem like Joe and Madison are still together from Love Is Blind Season 9. According to the online public records search for Denver County’s Office of the Clerk and Recorder, no one with Joe or Madison’s names obtained marriage licenses in Denver between 1859 to 2025, though it’s possible that Netflix didn’t have the couples get legally married for Season 9 to not spoil the ending like previous seasons.

At the time of writing, Joe and Madison still follow each other on Instagram. While their following may also be a red herring to not spoil their current relationship status, Madison hinted that she wasn’t still together with Joe in an interview with Glamour after his comments about her weight, which she called the “worst case scenario.”

“This was [the] worst case scenario for me,” she said. “Worst case scenario is the person you fall in love with isn’t attracted to you, and all of a sudden it becomes not about the connection, but the attraction. And while I think that’s very important, this is Love is Blind. We did it for the emotional experience. It was definitely a hard watch.” She continued, “The things that he said kind of carelessly really did impact me, you know? It’s really important to be aware that words carry weight.”

Joe, for his part, also told the magazine that he felt “not great” about watching his comments about Madison on Love Is Blind. “I never want to contribute to anyone feeling that way,” he said. “She always came across as confident and comfortable in her own skin. Mind you, in our conversation, I was not shaming her. Just being truthful of who I went for in the past. I found her attractive, both in how she looked and how she carried herself.”

Since filming Love Is Blind in February 2024, Madison told the magazine that she’s now “healthy” mentally thanks to a “great therapist.” “I really realized that in this experiment, you feel so out of control, right?” she said. “I think coming back to real life and being with my family, my friends, getting back into my routine, was something that was really helpful.”

She also suggested that she wasn’t in contact with Joe by telling the magazine that she hopes Joe’s comments will make him reflect on how he views future partners. “And honestly, I hope that it puts in perspective for Joe that he needs to be far more mindful when he’s speaking about partners and women in general,” he said.

Joe and Madison also hinted that they weren’t still together in an interview with People, in which they reflected on their fight in Mexico after Joe seemingly drank too much. “It was actually worse than that,” Madison said. “After you see me go out on the patio, I’m crying, he gets back in bed at some point, they turn off the cameras and they’re leaving. And he pops up out of bed, he’s like, ‘Did dinner come? Where’s the food?’ Completely popped up, ready to go, ready to chat, all chipper. And I just had it, I was like, ‘You need to leave.’ I actually made him get his own room that night.”

She continued, “I was so disappointed and so genuinely hurt. [It was] so dismissive of me at the pool party to the way that he acted in the room.”

Madison also revealed how Joe broke the fourth wall while filming the fight with Madison. “It was really disheartening, that’s how he chose to show up for me,” Madison said. “Yes, what you saw is exactly how it happened, if not worse, especially because they cut. There’s a part there where, when I wake him up, he’s like, ‘Why are the cameras here?’ And he actually gets mad at me. And the producer was like, ‘Joe, you knew we were filming tonight.” It was disgusting.'”

Joe, for his part, blamed his behavior on being intoxicated. “I don’t know if you’ve heard of the term open bar, but I think I took full advantage of that,” he said. “I definitely could have paced myself a little bit better, but emotions are high. Everybody’s having so much fun. Then I think I probably got the worst of it.”

He continued, “I swear there was one point where in my mind, it just clicked, ‘I got to go. I got to go right now. I got to go take a nap. I am too drunk.’ Went back and slept it off, which I probably needed a little bit more sleep … It was hard to watch.”

He also reassured that he’s taken “responsibility” of his actions. “I know I was at fault there,” he said. “I mean, I did not need to drink that much, but it was a lot,” he says. “I honestly probably should have brought Madison in the conversation, paid more attention to her. I know that’s what she was wanting, and it probably got away from me.”

Madison, for her part, also admitted that she wasn’t “a hundred percent sober” either, but she wasn’t close to Joe’s “level” of intoxication. “I definitely wasn’t to that level,” she said of the “confusing” interaction. “I think at that point I was really in observation mode. This is our first time as a couple being in a group setting. This is our first time as a couple in person being together. I mean, we are only two or three days in to actually physically being together. And at that point, I was really just trying to observe. ‘Is this how you operate? Is this how you move through the world?'”

Joe also addressed his perceived “body shaming” comments about Madison’s weight. “I hope it didn’t come off as body shaming or anything like that. I think they asked me, ‘What would’ve been the people that you have gone for in the past?’ My exes and girlfriends are maybe smaller, a little petite, I would say, in physique, and so it probably came off bad, but it was no dig in Madison… Madison is very attractive,” he said. “But that’s the experiment, right? You don’t know. So, you don’t know. You’re trying to build that emotional connection before, and so that’s exactly what I was there for.”
