Tyler Stanaland, Alex Hall
Netflix

Alex has been the center of drama for Selling the OC Season 4, but did she get her ‘happily ever after’ during the aftermath of her situation with Tyler Stanaland?

In the first couple of episodes of Season 4, Alex confronts Tyler for taking the blame for his behavior right before his divorce from Brittany Snow was finalized. It was later revealed that she was seeing someone (slightly) new, named Ian Young, and some cast members didn’t have a seal of approval. “[Alex] is lowering that bar way too far,” Gio observed. “He’s just a little puppy dog following her around, and maybe she’s dating the opposite of what Tyler is to try to get over him.”

Alex and Tyler later cleared the air after a tequila-fueled discussion. “After that conversation, we both just took a deep breath and were able to squash it once and for all,” Alex told Netflix’s Tudum. “I think that conversation maybe could have been had without so much alcohol involved, but I think that we were uninhibited, and it was heartfelt. It needed to be had if we were going to ever move forward and be in the same room together.”

Now that one chapter of her life is closed, is she ready for a new one?

Are Alex and Ian still together after Selling the OC Season 4?

Things are pretty up in the air for marriage between Alex and Ian since they live “two completely different lifestyles,” but surely they’re still together. The two are determined to make things work, but Alex told Netflix’s Tudum that her living situation is what’s stopping her in the transition. “I’ve still got my place here in Orange County. We’ve also got the house in Temecula,” she told Netflix’s Tudum. “Trying to merge both [lifestyles] is what we’re trying to figure out right now. But everything’s going great, and I’m still very excited.”

She continued, “We are looking for a new home but haven’t found one yet. Sometimes you can have the best intentions but reality just doesn’t play out the way you imagined it would.”

Alex hardlaunched her boyfriend in a PDA-filled Instagram post in March 2025. “Ladies, if you’ve been in you’re masculine for too long because you felt like you had to be, or because you were in survival mode, or because you never fully surrendered because it didn’t feel safe or it was too vulnerable…I promise there’s hope!” she wrote in the caption. “But it starts with you. Find yourself the RIGHT man..a REAL man, don’t let him go-ALLOW HIM IN. Allow yourself to feel safe, surrender, and let him lead. I’m still a work in progress, but I found my pink again 💕”
