Owning Manhattan‘s Ryan Serhant Revealed His Wife ‘Thought He Was Gay’ When They 1st Met

Ryan Serhant is New York City real estate royalty. But after being on TV for more than a decade, the Million Dollar Listing New York and Owning Manhattan star’s sexuality has been heavily speculated.
In an interview with Parade, he talked about how tough it was to portray his personal life while also showcasing his professional business. “The promise that I made to Netflix and to myself and to my family was I can’t do this unless I’m 1,000% open,” he said. “I can’t do this unless I’m incredibly vulnerable and I give the audience everything and anything and let them make their own decisions. I don’t want to hold any punches. And everyone who signs up for the show has to do the same thing, so the core cast.”

Is Ryan Serhant Gay?
Ryan Serhant is straight, according to Advocate. He’s been married to his co-star and attorney Emilia Bechrakis since 2016, and together they share a daughter, Zena, born in 2019.
In a heartwarming video about how he met his wife in Manhattan posted in 2018, Serhant mentioned that Bechrakis made an assumption about his sexuality. “I went to a townhouse open house to meet Jewish girls and a developer,” he recalled. “I thought I would get Jewish girl to tell me what to do for the rest of my life. Instead, I met Emilia, and she thought I was gay. My yamulke kept falling off, and that’s how we met. She followed up with me the next day, and I said “That’s all I get? Just a simple follow up?’ and she said ‘What else do you want?’ and I was like ‘Drinks tonight!'”
“She always said I was the one night stand that never got away,” he concluded.
The couple had been victims to divorce rumors earlier in the year after fans noticed Bechrakis wasn’t featured prominently on his social media anymore. Serhant told TMZ, “We are still very happily married! Celebrating 14 years together. And yes she still puts up with me.”
Serhant’s rep added,to the Daily Mail, “He decided to change his posts to business, due to security issues, and his continued focus on his businesses,” his rep said.
