Everything is getting tangled up in Tell Me Lies. A minor character just reappeared in Season 3, and her situation might stir the pot even more for Lucy.

To recap, Stephen (Jackson White) is still trying to manipulate Lucy (Grace Van Patten) after their breakup, and uses some secret knowledge to his advantage. Lucy lied that Chris (Jacob Rodriguez) raped her in order to protect her friend Pippa (Sonia Mena), and her ex has a hold of the tape where she confesses that she falsely accused Chris.

In Stephen’s scheme, we’re reintroduced to a character who might make the drama even deeper than it is.

Who is Caitie Parker in Tell Me Lies?

Caitie Parker (Taia Sophia) was a character who first appeared in Season 2 and also accused Chris of rape. Caitie’s confession led Lucy to also claim that she was raped by Chris, in order for everyone to take it seriously since most of her classmates brushed it off. Caitie’s sexual-assault case against Chris was dropped since there was no evidence and no other victims had come forward.

In episode 3 of the fourth season, Stephen pulls up Caitie’s Facebook profile and creates the Facebook group “Chris is a Rapist” that has the description that Chris sexually assaulted Caitie and Lucy.

Lucy is then pulled to the dean’s office to submit a formal report against Chris, and Caitie tries to persuade Lucy to do so since there’s more evidence of it, knowing that someone also went through the same thing.  “Chris could finally be held accountable,” she said.

However, Lucy refuses to budge and be involved with the case, and Marianne (Gabriella Pession) agrees she shouldn’t be pressured into doing so. But Lucy delivers a scathing dig at the professor: “You should be worried about all the girls on campus who have been traumatized by your husband because he’s a fucking creep.”

Lucy later calls up Diana and tells her about the hostage video, and explains that Stephen is holding something worse over her head. She also confessed that she lied about accusing Chris, but they both agreed to leave Pippa out of the drama since they care about her the most.

As for what this means for Lucy later down the line, fans think that Caitie’s involvement was just one step in Stephen’s masterplan to mess with her and Diana. “Stephen was meddling again,” one fan observed on Reddit. “Definitely setting Lucy up for a downfall.” But who knows what will transpire after Diana ruined his reputation and revealed that she’s aborting his baby.
