But, as readers of the books know, Bridgerton is a romance, and each Bridgerton sibling has their own love story. Yes, even Eloise. Who does Eloise marry in Bridgerton?
Eloise—the fifth Bridgerton child and second daughter—is the main character in To Sir Phillip, With Love, the fifth book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novel series, where she meets and marries (as the title suggests) a man named Sir Phillip Crane.
Phillip is the widower of Eloise’s distant cousin, Marina Thompson. A while after Marina’s death, Eloise and Phillip start to write letters to each other. Despite never meeting, Phillip and Eloise form a connection through their letters, and Phillip, aware of Eloise’s reputation as a spinster, proposes to Eloise in a letter.
Against her better judgment, Eloise agrees to meet Phillip and his two children, Oliver and Amanda, at his home. Despite the fact that he’s nothing like she imagined her perfect husband would look and act like—Phillip was rough, rugged, ill-mannered and far from the London gentleman she envisioned herself with—Eloise fell in love with him and his kids, and the two got engaged.
Eloise and Phillip marry at his house with a reception outside their home, and Eloise becomes the mother Amanda and Oliver never had after their biological mother died when they were young. Eloise and Phillip go on to have three more children together: Penelope, Georgina, and Frederick.
Will Bridgerton Season 5 be about Eloise?
While it’s unclear when Eloise’s season will happen, Philip (played by Chris Fulton, and Marina (played by Ruby Barker), were introduced back in Season 1 as the brother and sister-in-law of George Crane. In the series, Philip hints that he married Marina to protect her in society, but despite their arrangement, it seemed like their relationship was purely platonic when Phillip and Marina returned for Season 2.
In an interview with Deadline in January 2026, Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed that Eloise and her sister, Francesca, will both be leads in Season 5 and 6, though she couldn’t confirm which season was about whom. “Both characters with the initials on my pocket squares will get seasons in 5 in 6. In what order? I can’t say,” she said.
