Are Dee & Austin Still Together From Survivor 2023?
CBS

The sole showmance of the season that lasted. If you’ve caught up with every episode of the reality show, you might be wondering if Dee and Austin are still together after Survivor 45.

The reality TV show stems from the Swedish television series, Expedition Robinson, which Charlie Parsons created in 1997. However, the American version of Survivor aired for the first time on May 31, 2000. Jeff Probst has hosted every season of Survivor and is also an executive producer alongside Mark Burnett and Parsons. The rest of the television franchise includes Australian SurvivorSurvivor South Africa, and Survivor New Zealand.

In the epic and whirlwind 3-hour finale, Dee Valladares had three immunity wins and won the final immunity. Pitted against Austin Li Coon and Jake O’Kane, Dee won the game by a vote of 5-3-0. Though the two have been quite relaxed with their showmance on-screen, Dee and Austin talked about how they’re going steady months after competing on the island.

Here’s if Dee and Austin are still together after Survivor 2023.

Are Dee & Austin still together after Survivor 2023? Yes! The two have talked about their relationship after the season 45 finale.

In a post-finale interview with Parade, Austin touched upon the state of their relationship. “Things are going great. I mean, honestly, we’ve seen each other so many times since the end of the season,” he said. “We’ve hung out. We’ve gone to all these different watch events. And I’ve visited in Miami; she came to Chicago. But, for the most part, I think we kind of want to keep this side private for now. I mean, things are going really, really crazy. And I don’t think we’re quite ready yet to deal with the ramifications of announcing anything. So we’re gonna keep that private.”

Dee also emphasized the need of keeping the relationship private in her post-Survivor interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross. “This has been a whirlwind of emotions and we have decided to keep it low key for now,” the winner said. “It’s been too crazy and it’s getting crazier. So we’ve decided to keep it low key for now, only because it’s been insane.”

Austin also recalled that they weren’t actively looking for a showmance but landed in it. “Both Dee and I were so focused on our game. Showmances are just an instant disaster. If that comes out, you’re done,” he told Parade. “They’re gunning for you. I think that really pushed it so far back. And by Day 20, I think we were in such good positions at that point in the game, that we felt really comfortable [being] like, ‘Okay, what are people going to do at this point.'”

Though they were never really alone, they ended up cherishing their time together. “But at the same time, most of the time during the day, we never really talked or hung out too much. We didn’t want to spend too much time alone. So most of our times hanging out was at night when people were asleep. And we do have our two-hour-long conversations together, talking about strategy and life and whatnot.”

He also joked that they didn’t know it was so obvious to the rest of the contestants. “So we did our best to keep it under wraps. And it’s kind of funny, because you see at the after show, Jeff’s like, ‘Oh, who knew that this was happening?’ Everyone raised their hands. Come on! Really?! Then we would have been voted out way long ago. But now I think we did a really good job of hiding it. And that’s why it worked really, is just because we put our games first before the showmance or anything. And you can see that. She took out my number one; I took out her number one. But, like you said, you can’t really stop feelings. You just kind of have to play around them.”
