Love Island USA‘s Nicole Had a ‘Bizarre’ Reaction to Why Kendall Lied About His Nude Video

Love Island USA star Kendall’s sister is concerned for the contestant once he leaves the villa. Shortly after the dating show’s finale, explicit videos of Kendall were shared on X and Reddit, and fans were quick to react and report the content.

Kendall Washington was an original islander who lasted until the Love Island USA season 6 finale after he re-coupled with Nicole Jacky earlier in the season. The couple placed fourth overall after the winners Kordell and Serena. There’s been a lot of off-screen drama with the contestant, as his alleged ex claimed that he broke up with her to get on the show, but this incident might have crossed the line.

How did Kendall from Love Island USA respond to his leaked video?

In an Instagram story, the Love Island contestant wrote, “What a way to get my phone back y’all. just want to address the content that came out from my past. That was something I shared to someone in confidence and trust.”

He continued, “It’s unfortunate that it’s no longer private, but it is what it is. I want to thank you all for the calls/texts to support me during this time. I am so grateful for my Love Island experience and I love you all for tuning in to watch my journey.”

 Jacky admitted that “things have not been easy since leaving the villa” and weeks after the leak. “There’s much more to share on what has happened since coming home, and for now, I’ve been taking time to process — these are real feelings and my real life,” she said on an Instagram story on August 2, 2024.

Kendall’s sister Taylor, who appeared on the show supporting her brother, called out the leak and said that Love Island producers need to provide a support system after the show is over. In an Instagram story with screenshots of fan’s reactions, Taylor wrote, “I do not have the capacity to respond to everyone individually but I appreciate everyone reaching out concerned about Kendall’s mental health. I am too.”

She tagged the Love Island USA Instagram account and further wrote, “I really hope y’all have serious mental health resources in place for him so he doesn’t come back from the high of this experience to seeing he’s been unfairly exposed on top of general reality TV backlash. If y’all have a history of suicide from people being on your show. I’d really hope you all get a handle on this expeditiously.” She said that she reached out to a couple of contacts on the show, but hopes “I hear back from someone.”

She concluded the post, “Private lives should remain private. The weight of this [is] too much for anyone and my heart aches for him immensely.” In the following story, she shared a link to report the content on the platform.

What did Kendall lie about during the Love Island USA reunion?

During the explosive reunion that aired on August 19, 2024, Kendall told Nicole that the video was “from years ago” and involved “someone [he] trusted, an ex-girlfriend.” But Nicole learned that the video had actually been filmed just days before she entered the villa.

Nicole said that the “video is not OK” and “nobody deserves” the kind of public humiliation that Kendall endured. She then turned to Kendall to say “I think if you say you love somebody, in the moment when you’re telling me about something, you need to be honest.”

“I was there for you,” Nicole added. “That’s why I haven’t spoken up. I haven’t said anything because it’s f—king awful what you’ve been through. But you also weren’t honest with me about it.” For his part, Kendall acknowledged “should have been honest with Nicole in that moment,” but he wasn’t ready to tell her. He explains, “My life was turned upside down, and I just wanted to have you there. And that’s why I said that.”

There was an outpouring of support for Kendall in his Instagram comments. “nicole was dead wrong for bringing up how it happened and making it about her i love you kendall you tried to make it right that’s all that matters your situation doesn’t deserve to be overlooked because she tried to make it about her,” wrote one fan.

“Having that conversation on national television wasn’t fair for him💔🥺, Nicole really cares about her public image than the mental health of this man,” said another. “I think Nicole’s behavior at the reunion is very bizarre. Obviously us women don’t like being lied to, but context matters, and it was bizarre how upset she was over a little white lie. What happened to you was a crime and purely traumatizing. I’m confused by her anger,” a third added.
