Bri and DeMari were chosen 7:1 as the winning couple on Too Hot to Handle season 6. Whether they’re still together is an entirely different story. In the show’s finale, they walked away with $150,000 in prize money.

“This has been such an unreal experience. I’m leaving with a man, I’m past all my trust issues, and six figures? Yeah!” Bri said after their win, as DeMari added, “This is like a storybook ending.” They were beloved by viewers, too, with one fan decrying on Reddit that they were the “best couple in the house.” Here’s if their relationship made it past filming.
They’re not, but it sounds like they’re keeping their options open, revealing that BriMari is “on a break,” according to a post-show interview. “It’s complicated. We’re working on things … It was real in there, but it was such a small window,” DeMari told People.

“So we’ve really have been trying to learn each other on the outside of everything. I had delayed reactions to coming back to the real world, so we’re on really good terms of trying to figure things out, but it’s tough.” Added Bri: “I’m not dating anybody else and he said he isn’t, so…”
According to the couple, their differing locations have been a challenge, with Bri based in Atlanta, Georgia, and DeMari in Indiana. “At first when we came out of the villa, it seemed fairly easy because we were FaceTiming every night, but he is in a different time zone, so it did start to get really difficult,” Bri explained. “And then he told me that he was having delayed reactions from the whole experience, and so we just decided to take a break, separate for a little bit and we actually weren’t speaking for a while.”
In another interview with TODAY, Bri fell short of revealing her relationship status but said, “Boys will always be boys and sometimes you just have to let them be boys, but eventually they will be a man.”
