Connor Stalion’s Surprising New Role Revealed After He Was Accused of Leading a Sign-Stealing Operation
Netflix‘s new addition to the Untold series deep dives into the University of Michigan’s 2023 sign-stealing scandal and the ringleader of it all: Conor Stalions. The former analyst breaks his silence after being accused of being the mastermind.
Born and raised in Michigan and educated at the U.S. Naval Academy, Stalions began working for Michigan in May 2022. NCAA opened up its investigation on Michigan and Stalions in 2023. While sign-stealing itself isn’t banned from college football, Conor Stalions was accused running an “elaborate” scheme of in-person scouting of opponents and using electronic equipment to record opponents’ signals. He bought tickets for other people like family members in prime locations and having them film the sideline of Michigan’s future opponent the entire game.

Stalions eventually resigned from Michigan as soon as the allegations went out. “I developed my own data base which is the next evolution of my game day sheet,” Stalions said in the documentary. “Instead of memorizing words, I was memorizing pictures. And I would that that is the number one reason why I became as good as I did at deciphering signals.”
Where is Connor Stalions now?
Connor Stalions is currently a football coach at Mumford High in Detroit. The head coach at the school William McMichael confirmed to ESPN that he hired Stalions as his defensive coordinator.
McMichael stood by his choice in hiring Stalions. “He might be the most hated man in college football, but the coaches and kids at Mumford High School love him,” he told the sports news site. “The defense we’ve been running for a while mirrors Michigan’s. It gives an edge to the guys who are looking to go to the next level because they’re learning college lingo and how you go about being professional.”
Sports Illustrated also revealed that Stalions created a Cameo account where users could pay $70 for a personalized video from him. The site also reported that was seen watching Michigan play at the Rose Bowl in 2024 and was celebrating at a sports bar with fans.
