They wouldn’t be the first nepo baby showmance to come out of the ABC reality show! After their finale flirtmance, viewers have questions about whether Hud and Mackenzie are together after Claim to Fame Season 3 or whether their flirtation was strictly strategic.

Hud and Mackenzie are two contestants on Season 3 of Claim to Fame, ABC’s reality TV competition in which relatives of celebrities must correctly guess each other’s famous family members while keeping their own a secret. Mackenzie confirmed her attraction toward Hud in the Claim to Fame Season 3 premiere in which she joked that Hud’s relative must be someone attractive because of how he looked. The two also flirted in the Claim to fame Season 3 finale, in which Mackenzie also joked that her flirtation was a strategy to win the show.
“It’s just fun to flirt with him a little bit,” Mackenzie said in a confessional interview after a scene of her and Hud talking about their plans after Claim to Fame. “All for the game. However, after this game ends, check back in with me.”
As of writing, Hud and Mackenzie don’t follow each other on Instagram after the Claim to Fame Season 3 finale, so it’s likely they’re not dating following the show. While it’s possible they didn’t follow each other to not spoil their celebrity relatives and real identities to viewers, Mackenzie does follow a few of her Claim to Fame Season 3 cast mates—including Jill Kurlfink (John Stamos’ niece); Danny Zayas (Marc Anthony’s nephew); and Gracie Lou Hyland (Jon Cryer’s niece)—so their lack of follows for each other could be due to other reasons.
Hud and Mackenzie also don’t live in the same place. Mackenzie lives in Nashville, Tennessee, according to her Instagram biography, while Hud lives in Bloomington, Indiana, per his Linkedin. Though Hud and Mackenzie haven’t confirmed their relationship after Claim to Fame Season 3 finished filming, they wouldn’t be the first couple from the show to date in real life.
Claim to Fame Season 2 contestants Hugo Wentzel, the grandson of Jimmy Carter, and Olivia Aquilina, the niece of Jenny McCarthy, also revealed they were dating after filming ended. “It’s amazing,” Hugo told People in August 2023. “Olivia’s the best. I literally love Olivia. It’s crazy I got to meet them on that show.”
Hugo revealed that, after meeting on Claim to Fame Season 2, he and Olivia connected off camera after realizing they had more in common than they thought. “After [the show] we linked up and it’s just been great.”
Hugo confirmed he and Olivia were still together in an Instagram post in July 2024 of them in the Bahamas “Almost got arrested on the beach for being too hot to handle, on the run currently,” he captioned the photo. Olivia, for her part, also shared an Instagram photo of her and Hugo kissing in August 2023. “Americas favorites @claimtofameabc Mom and Dad 😈❤️ Like if we should do more shows!!” she wrote.
Claim to Fame is available to stream on Hulu.
