In the Season 1 finale of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, a shocking revelation left viewers on quite the cliffhanger. Mayci Neely dropped the information that Taylor Frankie Paul‘s boyfriend Dakota Mortensen may have been unfaithful to her. Fast forward to Season 2, and viewers finally learned the truth about the rumors—and the fate of Taylor and Dakota’s relationship.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives follows a group of Mormon mom TikTok influencers, colloquially called MomTok. The girls are embroiled in a ‘Swinging Scandal’ where Taylor Frankie Paul admitted that she was involved in Soft Swinging with her husband Tate Paul, which led to their divorce after it was discovered that he did cheat on her behind her back. Taylor then moved on from Tate and began a relationship with Dakota Mortensen. In August 2023, she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with her boyfriend.

Taylor and Dakota welcomed their first child, a son named Ever True, in March 2024. And while the two continue to co-parent Ever, their relationship has taken a dramatic turn. Are Taylor and Dakota still together? Here’s where their relationship is now.
Taylor and Dakota are not still together and split in 2024 after two years of dating. Taylor confirmed the breakup in an Instagram Story in January 2025, admitting that she still cried “every day” from the split. “That’s grief, let it through so it can pass and you can heal,” she wrote. “The more you resist the pain coming through, the longer the suffering, learned this the hard way.”
Taylor, who also shares son Ever True with Dakota, also named the three biggest struggles she faced after the breakup: “the quiet after the chaos, missing out [on] time with your kids” and “inconsistency.” She also confirmed that she was not dating at the time. “I couldn’t think of anything worse,” she wrote.
Taylor’s confirmation came after fans speculated that the two had broken up after they didn’t spend the holidays together. Taylor and Dakota went public with their relationship in July 2022, less than a year after Taylor’s divorce from her ex-husband, Tate Paul, whom she shares two kids with: daughter Indy and son Ocean. As of writing, Taylor and Dakota do not follow each other on Instagram.
Taylor and Dakota’s split came months after she told Parade in September 2024 she was sticking by her man despite the claims he was unfaithful to her. “I definitely love him a lot,” she told Parade. “We came into this relationship with a lot of baggage, and it’s been really hard to work through…it’s been rocky but I choose him always.”
Though they had their problems in Season 1, Taylor painted Dakota in a positive light. “[Dakota] has been amazing with my children and has loved them so unconditionally, which is really crazy to see a man to love other children that aren’t his,” she continued. “Especially with what we’ve gone through. I haven’t been like the easiest partner and he still has loved my kids through all of that and treated them so good.”
In the finale of the show, Mayci revealed that Dakota allegedly cheated on Taylor early in their relationship. She calls a woman named Jenna who promises to tell her everything about her fling with Dakota. Neely revealed that it “could ruin people’s lives.” Throughout the season, Dakota assures that he and Jenna didn’t do anything more than kiss. Taylor later tells her friends she will leave him if she finds out he is lying despite being pregnant.
During The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2, Jenna, who appeared as a guest star, confirmed that she and Dakota had sex while he was still with Taylor. Dakota also confirmed that he was unfaithful to Taylor, which led to their breakup and Dakota moving out of Taylor’s home.
Prior to their split, Taylor didn’t seem to be too bothered by the scandal. “To be honest, I wasn’t worried about it,” she told The New York Post. “I’d like to know the details of what happened and whatnot. That’s gonna create drama in our real lives. If we had a Season 2 and she [Jenna] was brought in, that’s a very triggering person to me. It could be very nerve-wracking.”
She continued, “I want to know everything that happened with her and him at the time. I had no issues with it, but Dakota, he’d give you a different answer,” she told the publicaton and also noted that “the timing” of Neeley’s phone call was “hard.”
