Why the Menendez Brothers’ Prosecutor Is Being Called the ‘Real Monster’ of Their Murder Trial

Pamela Bozanich is best known for her role as the Deputy District Attorney who prosecuted the infamous Menendez brothers during their highly publicized trial in 1993. Her views many years later have been controversial, and as Lyle and Erik‘s crimes are being examined through the modern lens, she’s now being labeled as the real monster of the trial.

Bozanich played a significant part in portraying the brothers as motivated by greed rather than the years of abuse they claimed as part of their defense. To this day, she has maintained her belief that the brothers fabricated their claims of sexual and emotional abuse to avoid conviction, calling their defense “artfully done” but false.

Of course, prosecutors tend to stick to their guns when it comes to their opinions of people they’ve tried to put behind bars. For Pamela Bozanich, that has more than one meaning.

So where is Pamela Bozanich now?

Now in her mid-70s, Pamela Bozanich, resides in Long Beach, California, with her husband, Peter Bozanich. Having retired from the District Attorney’s office, she is likely enjoying her retirement with her family. Her license with the State Bar of California is currently inactive.

In recent years, Bozanich has been featured in documentaries such as Netflix‘s The Menendez Brothers and Peacock’s Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed. As we said, her views have made her a controversial figure, especially as support for the Menendez brothers has grown through social media movements like TikTok.

In Netflix’s documentary, Bozanich said brashly, “The only reason we’re doing this special is because of the TikTok movement to free the Menendi. If that’s how we’re gonna try cases now, why don’t we just have a poll. You present the faces, everybody gets to vote on TikTok, and then we decide who gets to go home,” adding, “Your beliefs are not facts. They’re just beliefs. And by the way, all you TikTok people, I’m armed. We got guns all over the house. So don’t mess with me.”

One person tweeted in response: “so pamela bozanich believes that erik & lyle shouldn’t be set free after they killed their parents with guns, yet threatens people on tiktok with guns she has in her house if they come at her?”

Another commented, “This pamela prosecutor in the menendez brothers trial is the real monster. Up till now, she still thinks they fabricated the abuse story. She’s so pathetic.” A third observed, “The prosecutor in the #MenendezBrothers case is a nasty, evil woman. She’s the worst part of the documentary because she’s just a fucking nasty bitch.”
