Timothée Chalamet has arrived at the 2025 Oscars, and his look may be a subtle nod to Bob Dylan. Chalamet, who portrays the legendary artist in A Complete Unknown, seemingly reheated Dylan’s nachos with a buttery-yellow look on the red carpet. (If you’re not aware, reheating nachos refers to when a person tries to recreate or emulate something another person has done before.) The ensemble, which was made custom by Givenchy, featured a lemon-colored blazer and leather pants. He topped off the look with black dress shoes and a brooch instead of a tie.
As fans of Dylan know, the musician has a song called “Big Yellow Taxi,” as pointed out by Zanna Roberts Rassi during E!‘s Live From the Red Carpet pre-show. While Chalamet didn’t confirm that the look is an ode to Dylan, he has been paying tribute to the icon throughout the A Complete Unknown press tour. At the 2025 SAG Awards, Chalamet wore a leather suit from Chrome Hearts with a silky lime green blouse that resembled an outfit Dulan wore in Singapore in 2011. Weeks prior, at the A Complete Unknown premiere in New York City, Chalamet unveiled a major hair change in honor of Dylan. He ditched his brunette curls for a shaggy blonde wig, pairing the transformation with a beanie, a striped scarf, and a plaid shirt. The outfit was nearly identical to what Dylan wore to a screening of Masked and Anonymous at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.

Method dressing aside, Chalamet has taken his portrayal of Dylan quite seriously, lamenting the role’s weight during his SAG awards acceptance speech. “I can’t downplay the significance of this award because it means the most to me,” Chalamet said. “I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is, I’m really in pursuit of greatness.”

He added, “I’m inspired by the greats. I’m inspired by the greats here tonight. I’m as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando, and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there. So I’m deeply grateful. This doesn’t signify that, but it’s a little more fuel. It’s a little more ammo to keep going. Thank you so much.”

Tonight, Chalamet is up for Best Actor in a Leading Role alongside Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice).
