This fashion week, Amelia Gray and Bella Hadid (among many others, I’m sure) wore these baby pink satin sneaker ballet shoes from affordable sneaker brand Vivaia, and they’re the latest among the trendy footwear that has caught our eye. The ballet shoe sneaker era has entered the chat.
We’ve been noticing these all over, as noted in our sneaker trend report for 2025. Let’s shout out the trendsetters in 2023 and 2024 for wearing ballet flat sneakers because now they’re about to be everywhere, and they’re great. Simone Rocha has been making walkable city-friendly, concert-friendly girly footwear fashionable for a minute now, and the world is finally ready. The lace-ups are kind of giving ballet shoe ribbons and Mary Jane straps, and they’re beautiful. Girlhood is taking a tomboy turn.

Trends have been heading in this direction. Ballet flats are trendy, of course, and so is preppy fashion. It’s hard to predict the sneaker of the summer, and to be honest, I kind of hate that we have to have a sneaker of the summer, but if we do have to call it on one, it’s the ballet flat sneaker. They’re also coming in loads of different vibes. The baby pink ballet flat sneaker is definitely one way to go, but one of the cool things about it is that even if you don’t want your sneaker to look like a ballet flat like that, you can kind of still make it work. So many of them are in sporty color ways like navy blue and red. One of my fave sneaker trends I’m seeing is metallic chrome silver, as well.
