In a promotional photograph for the release, Selena Gomez posted a photo of her and her fiancé posing in front of a traditional Prom backdrop in their Senior Spring best. Selena wore a dusty lilac purple bubble high low strapless gown with tights, leather boots, and a choker.

The look feels very similar to Gomez’ girly edgy vibe from Disney Channel and her time on Wizards of Waverly Place. Regardless of if it’s a callback to that specific style era of hers or the Tumblry soft grunge fashion of the time, the singer and actress is definitely evoking a more subdued version of the pastel punk, soft grunge Prom Queen. The only thing that might make it better if she had a little blue going on for a pop of color in her hair.
