Julia Fox Wore the Most Julia Fox Thing to Coachella
Wherever Julia Fox goes, there is bound to be a spectacle that follows. So when she was at Coachella‘s music festival (plus the Revolve Festival and a party to celebrate Benny Skinner’s new show, Overcompensating), of course comfort was not on the lineup. While we’ve been seeing festival fashion in recent years pivot to casual, comfortable options rather than the big flashy looks for Instagram, Fox is not done playing dress up. The model and actress wore a gorgeous beige corset with assless chaps.
Fox wore a bone-in lace-up leather corset and a short length assless chap, which she paired with a chocolate brown leather bolero cape, tights, and burgundy tinted sunglasses. She had a nude lip, a cool brown smokey eye, her hair gelled down to her head, and a simple almond manicure to match her look.
Fox is known for her daring and outlandish fashion choices. As a queer person, she leans into the theatricality of fashion rather than exclusively on beauty and glamour. In turn, of course she looks beautiful, but the attention she gets lies less on her looks and her body and more on the bravery and nerve it takes to pull off her style choices. This is true even when she is showing skin, like at Coachella. It’s not uncommon to see headlines about how her outfits are out of the ordinary, and likewise for her pictures to go viral on the Internet because of how out there she’s willing to go. Just earlier this year to the literal Grammys, Fox wore an entire outfit that was comprised of tights, a leather jacket, and a pair of yellow rubber kitchen gloves. That’s what makes her that girl, and that’s what makes her the namesake of Charli xcx’s 2024 hit, “360.” She’s so Julia.
