Kim Kardashian Serves Drama Not Dandy, Arrives Late to Met After ‘Scolding’ Security Guard

Kim Kardashian has never been one to miss fashion’s biggest night—and she arrived fashionably late in her dramatic 2025 Met Gala look. While everyone’s fixated on the co-chairs to see how they interpret this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”—there’s of course still tons of eyes on one of the Met’s biggest spectacle, Kim Kardashian. Since she made her debut at the gala in 2013, she’s delivered some of the most extravagant (and controversial) looks the Met Gala has ever seen—and tonight is no different.
The Met Gala is practically the Super Bowl for the Kardashian family, and Kim’s ensembles are always the most talked-about both online and IRL. While no one knows for sure who’s attending until the stars begin to walk the steps, it’s practically common knowledge that Kim Kardashian and her sisters will always be on the guest list. (That is, until Anna Wintour proves us wrong.) Because of this, Kim’s looks throughout the years have become Met Gala staples—and we can always count on her to spark up tons of discourse on Twitter.
Kim arrived to the Met steps in a leather gown and a matching leather hat made by Chrome Hearts. She accessorized with glittering jewelry and a beaded chain that wrapped around her leg. Because she was tardy to the red carpet, her vision-obstructing hat seemed to suit her vibe perfectly—although Instagram users had a lot to say about her look of choice.
Kim’s Maison Margiela silver gown at last year’s Met Gala was met with tons of mixed reviews, and her look tonight is just as debate-worthy. While the dress code “Tailored For You,” emphasizes menswear and suiting, fashion fans argue that Kim’s look is far more country than it is dandy. And although the Western aesthetic is huge right now, it isn’t exactly what fans were expecting from Kim.
