Blackpink‘s Lisa has been capturing our hearts thanks to her brand new solo album Alter Ego. And now, she’s making her Met Gala debut with a controversial pantless look in honor of the 2025 dress code “Tailored For You.”
Just like breakout star Doechii, this the first time Lisa has graced the Met Gala steps. Although her fellow Blackpink members Jennie and Rosé have attended before, Lisa is only making her debut in 2025. And although some fashion fans argued her glittering Louis Vuitton ensemble isn’t on theme, Instagram users pointed out that her panties appear to feature civil rights activists.

This year’s Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The dress code for the big event is “Tailored for You,” a nod to the exhibition’s focus on suiting and menswear—from specific silhouettes to various fabrics and accessories—that is purposefully designed to both provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.
Lisa’s year is only getting started as she recently revealed that Blackpink was just in the studio to record their long-awaited comeback. The girl group will embark on their world tour in summer 2025.
