Hailey Bieber forgot to pack pants for Paris Fashion Week—or at least that’s what Hailey Bieber’s no-pants look implies. If you’ve been stocking up on jeans and trousers for autumn, it’s time to re-think your outfit strategy because apparently, the best pair of pants you can wear is none at all.
It’s Paris Fashion Week, the twice-yearly phenomenon where celebrities, influencers, models, and designers descend upon the City of Lights to showcase their best looks. With paparazzi around every corner, celebrities are on their fashion A-game. For Hailey Bieber, that means taking her turn at the chic (and minorly scandalous) no-pants trend.
The Rhode Beauty founder stepped out in the look after an evening at Hotel Costes, a popular celebrity hot spot in Paris, on September 25th.

Instead of just wearing a bodysuit with tights, Bieber added her own spin on the look. She wore a nude tight turtleneck tucked into a pair of high-waisted black briefs with a gold belt buckled around her waist. The pieces were layered over sheer black Calzedonia tights which Bieber wore with black suede pointed-toe heels—a trick you can borrow if you want to elongate the look of your legs.
She accessorized with a few of her signature pieces including tiny black sunglasses (even though it was dark out), chunky gold earrings, and a stack of rings. Bieber held a tiny leather Jil Sander bag in her perfectly manicured hands. Her fall nail polish shade of choice? A deep maroon (noted for your next salon visit). In classic Bieber fashion, she slicked her hair back in a tight bun with a center part and finished off the look with a glossy lip.
The one piece in Hailey Bieber’s no-pants look that makes the ensemble realistic for a public outing is the long Matrix-style coat she wore over it. The long leather coat had a floor-sweeping hem, rounded shoulders, and no collar. Adding a statement coat like Bieber’s to your fall wardrobe could make the no-pants trend a reality for you while also elevating all of your other fall looks—yes, even the ones that involve jeans.

If the no-pants look seems familiar, you may remember when Kendall Jenner essentially started the trend last year in a full Bottega Veneta look sans pants. Since then, the model has made the pantless look a part of her signature style—Jenner even wore it to the Met Gala and Met Gala after-party. Though the idea of wearing a bodysuit without pants might have initially seemed daunting and unrealistic to anyone besides Kendall Jenner, the trend has proven to have some (literal) legs and has continued on as a surprisingly wearable option. Hailey Bieber did an excellent job of making the no-pants look like a realistic outfit choice.
Whether you prefer Hailey Bieber or Kendall Jenner’s no-pants look, I dare you to give it a try this fall (as long as you aren’t planning on wearing it to the office). Grab a bodysuit, tights, and a trenchcoat, and give the model-on-duty look a try.
