If you’re an A-lister in Hollywood, there are considerable perks—not only because you get to go to endless awards shows like the Golden Globes, but designers want you to wear their looks on the red carpet, and will probably loan you any number of fresh-off-the-runway looks to try for free. That personal assistants pick up for you to wear the night of the ceremony, natch.
But that’s not how Bryce Dallas Howard did the Globes this year. The problem, of course, with straight-from-designer duds is that they only come in sample sizes (usually a 0 or 2), and the internet was quick to celebrate Howard’s realness over not being one, with New York Times fashion critic Vanessa Friedman calling it “good.” And we just hope that the next time we’re shopping at Neiman’s, we’ll bump into someone as chill as Howard.
