Oh, how things change. In 2010, if you’d asked Karl Lagerfeld whether he pictured himself as a character in Kim Kardashian‘s smartphone game, he probably would have laughed you out of the country—or at least shot you a soul-melting death stare. However, fast-forward to 2015, the year of komplete Kardashian domination, and this scenario is an actual reality: Lagerfeld is officially featured in Kim Kardashian Hollywood.

The fashion guru’s character is illustrated with his signature ponytail, black-and-white outfits, fingerless gloves, and starched collar. One well-dressed avatar (pictured above) shows Karl in a bow tie, while another shows Lagerfeld smiling in layered jackets and metallic gloves. Or perhaps he’s just smirking about the irony of this situation.

The game’s creator, Glu Mobile, said in a statement that Mr. Lagerfeld’s namesake brand will be featured too. Select pieces from the Fall/Winter 2015 collection—including pants, tops, shoes, and accessories—will be available for players to purchase. After this initial introduction, the designer will then continue to show up throughout the game to “surprise players with appearances in entertaining quests and events,” joining other fashion industry folks such as editors André Leon Talley and Anna Dello Russo.

“Kim’s contribution to beauty and fashion—and what made her such an icon—is the fact that you don’t have to be super slim and very tall to be beautiful,” Lagerfeld explained while talking about the game with Vogue.com. “Others tried, but she succeeded in giving other girls like herself confidence. And I admire her for that.”

While, yes, Kim certainly brings some body diversity to the red carpet, we can’t help but balk at just how much the industry’s view of her has changed. After all, it’s well-documented that the fashion crowd shunned the reality-TV starlet before her image makeover (thanks, Kanye)—and we doubt the Chanel boss was any different.

Kim’s recent Vogue cover is proof that the tables have majorly turned in recent years; the Kardashians’ enduring domination of pop culture has gone a long way to gain Kim influence in the fashion industry. Oh, and with more than 30 million active users, can you really blame Lagerfeld for wanting to get his brand in on the Kardashian game action?
