Exactly How to Watch the Met Gala Red Carpet Tonight

You know the theme (“Manus x Machina”), you’ve prepped your outfit (sweatpants, duh), and you’re following along with celebs’ #MetPrep on Snapchat—now just one question remains: How do you watch tonight’s Met Gala red carpet at home?
This year, for the first time ever, the red-carpet portion of the Costume Institute‘s annual fundraising extravaganza is being broadcast live on E!, with hosts Catt Sadler and Zuri Hall reporting from New York. The channel’s coverage starts at 7 p.m. EST with a pre-carpet edition of “E! News,” and at 7:30 p.m. red-carpet arrivals begin, ending at 9 p.m. when the last of the guests (read: Beyoncé, et al.) finally swan up the stairs to the museum.

If you don’t have a TV, don’t worry: The social media coverage from the red carpet is always extensive, and this year Instagram is debuting a dedicated video channel on the Explore page. According to WWD, the channel will be up until Tuesday, May 3, at 5 p.m., and will feature the best video content from the event.
Technically, guests are forbidden from using social media inside the gala itself, but we have our money on Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and the rest of the Insta-girls bestowing at least a few selfies from the Temple of Dendur upon us by night’s end.
