I Found a Shockingly Good $35 Coach Brooklyn Dupe—Nobody Will Realize It’s Not the Real Thing

Believe it or not, you can be a fashion girl on a budget. I just found a shockingly good dupe at Target for Coach’s Brooklyn bag, and it made me think about how being stylish doesn’t have to mean spending a ton of money. There’s this misconception that in order to be chic, you have to wear and shop the most expensive, coveted pieces—and while having a good rotation of timeless, high-end items is a great idea, the quantity of those said things doesn’t have to define your wardrobe.
In fact, it’s cooler to have a mix of highs and lows because (to me) that shows you like what you like, you shop what you want, and your decisions aren’t guided by what’s trending or who is trending. Anyway, I went on that rant (I’ve been doing that lately) because this dupe really impressed me.
In case you didn’t know, the Brooklyn was on every It Girl’s arm last year, and it’s just as hot this year. Its intrigue is due in part to its minimalist silhouette, soft leather construction, and spacious interior. It’s great for the office and the weekend. It comes in two sizes—28, which retails for $295, and 39, which comes with a $495 price tag. While that’s not necessarily on the ridiculous side, it can be a steep purchase for someone, well, living in Brooklyn. Have you seen those rent prices?!
That said, Target has a nearly identical bag, shape and all. It seems to be around the size of the 28 but costs only $35. It comes in black and off-white faux leather with a slouchy construction and a magnetic closure. It appears pretty roomy and even has similar hardware.
Shoppers have flooded the product page with rave reviews, calling it a great everyday bag that is “soft and functional.”
“This is a comparable dupe to the Coach Brooklyn bag! The material is light. Fits a 17-inch laptop horizontally too! Great find!” one shopper wrote, as another gushed, “Absolutely love this bag!!!
