6 Editors With Different Body Types Tested the Most Classic Jeans in America

I’m officially one year postpartum, and yet my body still feels foreign to me. While expected, it still doesn’t change the fact that most of my old jeans don’t fit anymore, and I’m still figuring out what looks good on this new bod of mine. “Good” usually means “comfortable” and comfortable and jeans usually don’t go hand-in-hand. The Wedgie blew my expectations out of the water. Not only are they comfy, but they make me look amazing and feel amazing. I’m talking perfect fit (no slouching, or saggy butt; hip-hugging waist; the ideal length; a dreamy wash).

As someone with a “pear”-shaped body, Levi’s jeans tend to sit rigid on me. Not these: They’re no-stretch, but the denim has juuuust enough give to be comfortable, even though I sit at my desk all day long. Being 5’7 makes finding a jean that hits my ankle in that cool girl way really hard: Either I get jeans that look like capris, or jeans that are far too long. Not these! The length is perfection, and it makes showing off a pair of sandals (as pictured above) or ankle boots seamless.

Okay: The wash. Ugh. It’s beautiful. I chose “Unstoppable Wear” which is described as a “dark wash,” but as you can see from my photo above, it’s more of a classic blue. Not too light, not too dark (which is great for a year-round pair of jeans). It goes with everything in my closet, but lately I’ve been pairing it with a T-shirt and slides for a late summer-early fall look in Los Angeles.

And last but not least: Yes, the Wedgie accentuates your assets. I say this as someone who lost like 40 percent butt post-pregnancy, so I’m sensitive to clothing that does nothing for my derriere. While the jeans may be called “The Wedgie,” you will not, in fact, get a wedgie from wearing them if you pick the right size. I chose a size 31—I’m currently between a size 30 and 31—which fit me perfectly. I’d recommend choosing your size and a size up since I do think Levi’s tend to run a bit smaller (in my opinion!).

I don’t care what season it is—every girl needs to own a pair of culottes. Why? They’re extremely versatile. Pair them with kitten heels or lace-up sandals in the spring; wear them with clogs or a mule in the fall. Because of the wide leg and where they sit at the angle, you can get away with wearing almost every shoe with these. “I haven’t worn jeans in nearly a decade. The last time I wore jeans was during my freshman year of college, and I refused to wear them again after an awkward encounter with really tight skinny jeans and weight fluctuations. I’ve been a loose cotton pants or leggings girl for quite a while, and I really wanted to change up my wardrobe as summer transitioned into fall. The inner fabric of the jeans feel soft to the skin’s touch and they aren’t heavy to carry around at all. I’m a petite girlie, so I had to wear heels to make sure the bottoms of the pants didn’t drag on the ground. However, that power combination helped my posture more and I walked around the office with a bit more confidence.
