Every time a product goes viral, trendsetters always start looking for the next iteration of it—from Sambas to now, Labubus. What’s next to steal the spotlight in the vast Pop Mart universe? Blind box collectors are saying it’s Hirono, a figurine Kim Taehyung of BTS recently put on the map.
The K-pop star was spotted at Incheon Airport in South Korea in early October, toting a brown leather bag with a Hirono Living Wild-Fight for Joy Plush Doll, which surprisingly hasn’t sold out yet. Fans can twin with V by buying the figurine on Pop Mart or Amazon for $51 (though we suggest the latter, since Prime members can get fast, free delivery). But besides this specific model, what is a Hirono, and what other characters are on the market? We have all the answers to these questions below.
Chinese contemporary artist Lang brought Hirono to life in 2021. Each figurine captures an emotion, both the good, bad, and complex ones. “Lang aims to highlight the subtle fluctuations of life, its ups and downs, and attempts to freeze in time the elusive feelings that reveal our true character – love, joy, sadness, fear, kindness, cowardice, and others. Hirono is the epitome of growth, and a personification of profound human emotions,” according to Pop Mart’s Hirono page. Similar to Labubus and other blind boxes, each series includes secret editions, which are rarer to unbox, along with versions that aren’t part of the nine official series. For example, Hirono also has a Peanuts collab and a Hirono Search for Aliens Figurine .
Lang has released nine Hirono series (each series contains 12 figurines, plus a secret edition, except the Reshape Series has nine figurines, plus a secret edition), which you can find listed here:
You can order legit Hirono figurines online at Pop Mart, Amazon, and StockX. All three sell verified dolls, and plenty of them, but we recommend Amazon because Prime members can enjoy fast, free delivery. Keep reading for options that are more unique than a Labubu, and be ready to check out before these blind boxes rise in demand, causing figures to sell out and prices to surge. I was able to find seven out of the nine blind box series on Amazon (City of Mercy and Hirono x CLOT are not available on Amazon), which you can browse below. For rarer finds, head to StockX. It has the Hirono x CLOT Series, mugs, and more.
Hironos cost between $20 and $240 on Amazon. Blind boxes from The Other One, Little Mischief, Mime, Reshape, Shelter, Hirono x Le Petit Prince, and Hirono Echo Series cost $20 apiece on Amazon. The price for V’s Hirono figurine is steeper, coming out to $51. Still, these numbers are relatively normal for blind boxes (and cheaper than a Labubu, depending on the model and where you buy yours). Other collab dolls and non-series versions will ring you up for more than $20 and closer to $51. Seven-inch, ceramic figurines can come out to $157, while the most expensive Hirono items on Amazon are the series blind box sets (nine to 12 pieces) for anywhere between $180 and $240 (most are $240). On StockX, prices range from $19 to $172.
As mentioned above, V was spotted with the Hirono Living Wild-Fight for Joy Plush Doll . It’s not uncommon for K-pop idols to get blind boxes trending (like Lisa and her Labubus). It’s very on-brand for V to pick a figurine that’s more unique and about to take off. Whether you’re a BTS fan or not, you’re going to want to get your hands on these collectibles before they sell out and become more expensive and harder to find.
