Abercrombie kindly sent me this showstopper, which you can see on in our team’s try-on TikTok. I was hesitant this dress would make me look like a pioneer or prairie girl, but once I tried it on, I realized it’s has a more Western flair than anything, especially since I styled it with knee-high, leather, moto boots from Steve Madden. I immediately thought about how cute this dress would be for a picnic, a special occasion in spring, or even a music festival. Even though this garment has a pretty hefty price tag, I can see why. It’s in collaboration with Kemo Sabe, a high-end Western fashion brand, which you can see traces of in this number’s intricate lace details, poofy and flowy shapes, and thick cotton fabric (it’s a lot thicker than I expected, but in a good way, so as not to be see-through). I could tell from first touch (and then first wear) that this is a well-made dress. As for fit, I’m 5-foot-5 and usually an XS in dresses, so I stayed true to size. The dress is a tad big on the sides of my torso and at the chest, but I tend to think if I had gone for an XXS, it might’ve felt too tight and restricting. For a flowy silhouette like this one, I’d rather it be on the roomier side, so I’m very much looking forward to gallivanting in it more this spring and summer.”
