The summer moodboard is ready because the Zara summer collection for 2024 has dropped. The days of sweaters and boots are behind us and have been replaced with strappy shoulders and satin. Personally for me, I’m pretty uninspired by New York winters in terms of fashion. I usually just wear jeans and a sweater because riding the train or coming home from a night out in anything that may cause a sensory issue is for people who live in car cities.
On the runway last September, I was really excited to see rich jewel tone colors for spring paired with blush tones and creams in lieu of traditional pastels. We also saw a lot of all black, which was mirrored by the fact that after a fun, silly time in menswear land, the guys of Hollywood and high fashion have returned to their all black outfits. Zara’s summer collection mirrors these trends.
The collection features gorgeous reds and blues and greens, as well as really fun prints like leopard and textures like chainmail. They play with fabrics, using a lot of satins, sheers, and leathers. Of course, because sequins are everywhere right now, Zara’s collection also has gorgeous sequin pieces as well. The accessories remind me a lot of Loewe, fun ropes and pendants.
