I love, love, love going shopping, but when it comes to buying bras, I’m a little less enthusiastic. If you’ve got a larger chest, chances are you feel the same—that said, there’s zero reason that finding the right bras for big boobs should be so damn difficult. There are plenty of options! That said, finding the best bra for large busts is no easy feat. I’m the kind of gal who likes to look cute AF right down to my base layer, so I’ve taken the task of finding the best bras for me very seriously.

As an E-cup, I’d say I sit smack-dab in the middle on the spectrum of breast sizes from itty-bitty to huge. Still, as someone whose size fluctuates with weight gain, I know quite a lot about having to find the right bra to address your particular concerns. While I love the look of a lacy little balconette bra for date night, I can’t just throw on any old skinny-strapped, half-cup bra without risking some serious spillage. When it comes to my everyday staples, I’ve searched high and low for the most supportive shapes and thick straps—bulkier bras that still go undetected under tees and tanks. As for sports bras, strapless bras, and bralettes, I was confident I’d never find the perfect fits for me; when I finally did, my entire wardrobe changed for the better.
Finding the right bra for you takes some serious trial and error, I won’t lie. If you’re looking for a few good picks to start the process, read on for some beloved faves for bigger boobs.
According to Jene Luciani, founder at The Bra Expert and author of The Bra Book, “Women with larger busts should first of all consider fit. It’s even more important to have proper fit when you need more support.” In case you didn’t know, “90 percent of a bra’s support comes from the band so that needs to fit properly and not be riding up the back,” adds Luciani.
When shopping for a larger bust, you should check out the bra’s features. “There are features designed for support that women with larger busts can look for such as an underwire, a wider band, wider padded straps, and full coverage cups,” explains Luciani. “A foam cup will give you more structure but if you prefer and unlined bra, then look for a three part cup with boning on the sides so the cups don’t collapse.”
