Lazy Shoppers, Take Note: Uber Will Now Return Your Online Purchases For You

Uber already makes getting from point A to point B a million times easier, and now the transport app wants to solve another hassle, this time for lazy shoppers. We all know there’s nothing more annoying than sending back clothes you bought online that don’t fit, or accessories that don’t match their description, so Uber’s launching a service that will handle the returns process for you.

It’s not just limited to fashion either—starting today the app’s making it easy to send back any online purchase without making a dreaded trip to the post office or UPS outpost.

Here’s how it works: Enter the promo code “returns” to unlock the feature in the regular Uber app, gather up the items you’re sending back along with anything the retailer needs to issue your refund or credit, and set your pick up address. Next, a messenger will show up at your door to take the parcel off your hands, and make sure it’s shipped back to the retailer. Pretty cool, no?

The first return is free, and each subsequent pickup has a $4 flat fee, regardless of the amount of packages you’re returning, so long as they’re able to fit on a messenger bike.

Right now the service is only running in Manhattan, but we’re crossing our fingers that Uber makes this a permanent feature nationwide.
