The 2025 Critics Choice awards were worth the wait. After the ceremony was (rightfully) postponed due to the California wildfires, the big event took place in Los Angeles on Friday, February 7, and the stars delivered. I’m not sure if it’s because New York Fashion Week is currently underway in the Big Apple, but celebrities turned the step and repeat into a runway, gracing us with billowing gowns, fabulous suits, and fierce glam.

Hannah Einbinder looked statuesque in a structural dress by Louis Vuitton, Ariana Grande wore a Christian Dior cage frock, and Kathryn Hahn gave us texture in Oscar de la Renta. Nicole Kidman stood out among the crowd, ditching her signature sexy style for a conservative but chic suit from Saint Laurent. The look, which came from the fashion house’s spring/summer 2025 collection, featured an oversized blazer and slouchy pants. Like the model on the catwalk, Kidman donned an oxford shirt and tie. She topped the look off with pointed-toe pumps and soft glam.

Demi Moore also commanded attention in an artful look by Schiaparelli. The figure-flattering design featured a sweetheart neckline, a corseted bodice, and a slinky-like skirt. She complemented the look with satin pumps that featured sparkly accents at the heel and toe.

Of course, fashion isn’t the only thing on the agenda. The Critics Choice Awards are celebrating the best in film and television from the past year. Wicked racked up 11 nominations while Dune: Part Two and Emilia Pérez received 10 each. Baby Reindeer, Disclaimer, Masters of the Air, Mr. Bates vs the Post Office, The Penguin, Ripley, True Detective: Night Country, and We Were the Lucky Ones are all up for Best Limited Series.
