The 2025 awards season has officially commenced with the 82nd annual Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5. The red carpet was rolled out in Los Angeles, and the stars shined bright like diamonds. The biggest names in TV and film brought their fashion A-game to the Beverly Hilton—and if their looks are any indication of what to expect for the rest of the season, we’re in for a treat.

Maren Morris looked radiant in a red Carolina Herrera gown that featured an artful halter neckline and a whimsical skirt. She wore her hair pulled back, in a half-up half-down ’do, complementing the look with dainty diamonds. Zoe Saldana—who is nominated for her role in Emilia Pérez—also sparkled on the rose-adorned step-and-repeat in a chocolate sequin dress made by Saint Laurent’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello. She told E’s Zuri Hall that she wanted something “deep brown” because the hue makes her feel “really beautiful.”

Mindy Kaling was also a must-see, gracing the red carpet in a strapless gold gown that fell elegantly on her figure. Gold was certainly a theme for the evening as Cate Blanchett also donned the hue. She opted for a regal-looking Louis Vuitton number (that she’s previously worn) that featured strong shoulders and a cascading train.

Janelle James, meanwhile, gave photographers “body-ody-ody” in a bespoke Christian Siriano dress that featured a figure-hugging silhouette. Kerry Washington was also a knockout, rocking a bright pink Balenciaga gown. She told reporters she got fitted for the look in Paris while doing press for her film The Six Triple Eight.
